“(We met) two days ago, for the first time,” Zanetti told the host, smiling.

“We record separately, we live in different cities and I travel a lot for work,” he explained.

This was something that seemed to surprise the host, as both have been central cast members of the popular children’s show since 2018.

McCormack agreed that the arrangement was not what he had hoped for when he signed up for the show.

“I thought we’d all be sitting around a table, you know, like in the movies,” he said.

“But we are isolated in our cabins,” he added.

McCormack lives in Sydney, while Zanetti commutes between Brisbane and Los Angeles for work, this added to state lockdowns meant they never had a chance to meet.

The stars also talked about how they managed to score Bluey’s parents’ parts.

McCormack said he was in an elevator one day when someone asked him to participate. He pushed back and said that he couldn’t act, but finally agreed to try.
