Blue Mountains earthquake: 4.3-magnitude quake hits west of Sydney

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake has struck Sydney’s Blue Mountains, shaking the ground in the city’s west.

The earthquake struck in the Warragamba area at around 8.53pm on Friday.

One family felt their home shaking in Greystanes in Sydney’s west and said they had never felt anything like it.

Others in Penrith also said they felt their homes shaking.

The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed there was no risk of a tsunami.
