Blue Ivy, 12, now eyeing her own music career after joining mom Beyonce for NFL performance
She’s shared the stage with her mother all her life, but now Blue Ivy is ready for her own moment in the spotlight.
After performing alongside Beyonce at the NFL’s halftime show on Christmas Day, the 12-year-old is now keen to follow in her mother’s footsteps by making more music.
“Blue has the bug to perform now more than ever,” a source told DailyMail.com.
‘This performance was very important to her. “She didn’t want to embarrass herself or her mother,” they continued.
“She loves the opportunities she has in the future to record more music, with and without her parents, and she looks forward to the years ahead to become the artist she wants to be.”
The source added: “This performance was an incredible stepping stone to her future dreams.”
It comes after Blue dwarfed her mother’s 6-foot-4 frame as they danced side-by-side during the epic NFL halftime performance at NRG Stadium in Beyonce’s hometown of Houston on Wednesday.
The 43-year-old pop diva and her beleaguered husband Jay-Z will celebrate their “beautiful baby girl” officially becoming a teenager on January 7, when she turns 13.

Blue coordinated with Beyonce in all-white Western attire while serving as a backup dancer for the climactic, closing number – Texas Hold ‘Em.
Bey gave her precocious nepo baby a discreet shout-out mid-song when she changed the word “boy” to “Blue” in the lyrics: “Then turn me in the middle, Blue, I can’t read your mind.”
After the 32-time Grammy winner and Blue did two-step and line dances with the rest of the group, they linked arms for a do-si-do, square-dancing moment.
The two-time Guinness World Record holder may only be 12, but she’s already won a Grammy Award, MTV VMA Moon Man, NAACP Image Award, Voice Arts Award and two BET Awards.
Blue previously danced backup for Beyoncé’s songs My Power and Black Parade during her $579.8 million-grossing, 56-date Renaissance World Tour last year.
The child prodigy has also collaborated with her famous parents on a number of hit songs.
She made her musical debut on father Jay-Z’s 2012 single Glory, making Blue the youngest person in history to ever chart on the Billboard chart.
In 2019, Blue was featured on Beyonce’s Lion King single Brown Skin Girl, which reached No. 76 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Earlier this month, the talented tween made her big screen acting debut by voicing Kiara in Mufasa: The Lion King.
“If I told my younger self that I was in a movie, I would never believe myself,” Blue said in an interview with Disney Studios.
“It’s just an amazing experience and I feel like everyone who takes part in this is so helpful and supportive,” she continued.
“I’m thrilled that girls around the world who look like me can watch this film and hear and see themselves in it.”
