A popular hairstyling and makeup company with salons in Sydney and a host of celebrity clients including Jackie O and Pip Edwards has gone bankrupt.

BBC Operations Pty Ltd – which trades as Blow Bar Co Operations and runs salons in the Sydney CBD, Bronte and Balmain – appointed liquidators on Monday, according to documents filed with corporate regulator ASIC.

The news – which the company insists is the result of an internal restructuring – will come as a shock to many who have frequented the company’s swanky salons.

Blow Bar Co recently provided the hairstyling and make-up for the launch of their events company Besties by Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and best friend Gemma O’Neill.

A spokeswoman for Blow Bar Co told Daily Mail Australia the liquidation – which involves winding up a company’s affairs and assets for creditors – was an internal restructuring.

‘It is business as usual and there have been no financial consequences for customers, staff or suppliers.

‘This internal restructuring will ensure business continuity and growth.’
