Crocodile drags a man overboard at a Queensland boat ramp, before he miraculously manages to escape the reptile’s grasp in the crocodile-infested waters.

A man is lucky to be alive after being attacked by a crocodile in an ordeal.

He was at a boat ramp on the Bloomfield River near Cooktown in far north Queensland on Wednesday night when a “reasonably large” crocodile lunged at him, dragging him into the water.

The 37-year-old man was bitten on the lower leg but was miraculously able to escape with the help of a local ranger who witnessed the ordeal.

Unfortunately, his dog was mutilated in the attack.

The man was airlifted to the hospital in stable condition.

It is understood that the man was traveling through Queensland and had taken his dog to the boat ramp for a drink of water.

“The crocodile grabbed the man by the leg and dragged him away, but he managed to escape and the dog escaped too,” Josh Paterson, from the Jabalbina Aboriginal community, told the Cairns Post.

The ranger who rushed to the man’s aid and saved his life was recently

“She could see that there was someone in danger in the river and she was very lucky because we had just finished our first aid training,” Paterson said.
