Bloodied Uber driver appears in court covered in bruises after being battered by furious father ‘who caught him raping his drunk daughter in car’
A badly bruised Uber driver has appeared in court after being assaulted by a furious father who allegedly caught him raping his drunk daughter in a car.
Ahmed Ali, 58, had wounds to his face and bandages on both hands when he appeared in a courtroom in Washington state on Monday.
Ali, himself a father of five, is accused of kidnapping a woman he picked up from a bar when she was too drunk to return home alone on Saturday evening.
Police say that instead of taking her home, Ali took her to a remote location near the Nisqually River in Olympia, where he sexually assaulted her in the back of the car.

Before allegedly launching the attack, Ali manipulated the Uber app to indicate that the drop-off had been completed.
He was caught by the alleged victim’s father, who became concerned about waiting for his daughter to get home, so tracked her phone to the riverside location.
He and other family members searched for her and found her naked in the backseat of Ali’s car. The driver hurriedly pulled up his pants and climbed into the front of the car.
The victim’s enraged relatives responded by attacking Ali, and two shots were fired. Badly injured, Ali tried to run away but was later apprehended by authorities.

On Monday, the court found probable cause for second-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping. Prosecutors requested a bond of $100,000.
Ali himself is the father of five children and his family and neighbors supported him en masse in the courtroom on Monday.
He was also reported missing by his daughter on the night of the alleged assault.
Police have three days to file official charges against Ali. He remains in police custody.
