Blockheads and fans are outraged by controversial rule change: ‘Why don’t you just build it for them?’
Fans and former contestants have been attacking The Block after the reality hit was announced new rules for participants.

In addition, host Scott Cam said contestants get access to on-site electricians and plumbers, with the tradies paid up front.
After Channel Nine announced the changes on Instagram, former Block stars Kirsty Lee Akers and Jesse Anderson disapproved of the new rules.
“This year’s block is a walk in the park!” the pair wrote on The Block’s bulletin board.

Fans joined in to throw shade at the new rules.
‘The participants have it easy this year!’ wrote one viewer.
Another added: “Why don’t you just build it for them?” The Block is a long way from where it started. It’s all about styling.’
“I have a feeling competitors from last season will look at this season and think it’s much easier than previous seasons,” another fan added.
The changes come after the 2022 season endured bad weather while filming the show in Gisborne, in rural Victoria.

‘Thank God! I always thought it was unfair to have to organize your own trades at the last minute,” one viewer wrote.
“Well played, fair and just,” added another.
This year, the Blockheads are renovating a row of five 1950s houses in Melbourne’s Hampton East.
