Blizzard shares World of Warcraft roadmap for updates through 2024
Blizzard Entertainment has a lot of content planned World of Warcraft, both the retail version of the game and the Classic servers. Today, executive producer Holly Longdale shared a roadmap through 2024including the start of the Worldsoul Saga announced at BlizzCon this year.
There will be three more content updates for the current expansion, Dragonflight. While the expansion won't continue the usual three-act structure, with a raid at the end of each chapter, we'll still see the aftermath of the story unfold. Patch 10.2.6 is marked with a cheeky pirate skull, and not much else, so that's a hint that we can probably expect some naval issues soon. There will also be updates for Dragonflight's existing dungeons and outdoor content.
Players can test the upcoming games in the spring and summer of 2024 The war within expansion. Blizzard has worked hard to make this expansion the start of a story that will play out in the game's next three expansions. The war within, MidnightAnd The last titanso it's likely it's early War within content will contain hints and foreshadowing that will pay off in the long run.
Blizzard also continues to develop World of Warcraft classicallowing players to experience past eras World of Warcraft. Cataclysm Classic is coming, but there will be new changes to the traditional gameplay styles. There's already a hardcore mode, which means if your character dies, he or she is permanently dead. An upcoming “Self-Found” mode will prevent the player from acquiring equipment or help from allies; it's a one-man show to the top.
These updates will occur throughout the year, so some dates and events may be rescheduled. However, it appears that Blizzard is committed to providing consistent updates for both versions of its popular MMO. While Cataclysm was not the most liked expansion, the new changes Classic modes has helped revive player interest. We'll have to see how the rest goes Dragonflight is taking place, and how this prepares the way for the future The war within.
