Blake Lively’s personal trainer ‘accused of being spy’ by It Ends With Us’ Justin Baldoni, lawsuit claims
Blake Lively says Justin Baldoni complained to her that he felt her personal trainer acted as a “damn spy” on the actress’s behalf on the set of It Ends with Us.
The 37-year-old Los Angeles resident said actor-director Baldoni, 40, said he was dealing with lower back pain as a ploy to express his grievances about the issue to the film crew. Newsweek They reported this on Monday after reviewing documents in the civil rights complaint, which was filed in California on December 20.
Lively — who is the mother of four children with her husband, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, 48, — said in the 80-page legal complaint: “Mr. Baldoni called Ms. Lively’s trainer ‘a damn spy’ and tried to make up stories to portray his concerns as motivated by his lower back pain.”
Lively, who played Lily Bloom opposite Baldoni’s Ryle Kincaid in the romantic drama, said Baldoni expressed his grievances with her trainer in a series of texts to production staff in the film.
According to the outlet, Lively did not specifically name the fitness professional in her complaint to the California Civil Rights Department.

In the filing, the Gossip Girl alum accused Baldoni of sexually harassing her in multiple ways — including body shaming — during the film’s production.
Baldoni claimed the personal trainer told Lively he wanted her to shed pounds for the movie less than four months later [she] had given birth to her fourth child, son Olin, Lively said in her legal filing.
Lively said in the filing that she was “humiliated” when she learned that Baldoni — “without her knowledge or consent” — had set up a meeting with the trainer and “suggested that he wanted her to lose weight in two weeks.”
Regarding the reference to back pain, Lively said that Baldoni “told the trainer that he asked because he was afraid he would have to” lift her in a scene for the film, but there was no script for such a scene.
Lively said in the complaint that Baldoni had been deceptive on multiple fronts regarding issues related to her physical appearance, saying she was “routinely” ashamed of her figure.
In one case, she said he sent her to a weight-loss specialist under the initial guise of referring her to an expert on probiotics after she developed strep throat. E! News reported after assessment of the complaint.
Lively’s legal team said in the complaint that Baldoni is “routinely deteriorating” [her] by finding ways to criticize her body and weight.”
Baldoni and select associates also worked together to create a negative public campaign intended to harm her public image, Lively said in the complaint.

Vividly told The New York Times the day after she filed the complaint: “I hope my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak out about wrongdoing, and help protect others who may be targeted.”
Baldoni has dismissed all claims against him in Lively’s legal filing.
Since the complaint was filed, Baldoni has faced a number of professional fallout, including a lawsuit from a former publicist; and being dropped by the agency WME, which also represents Lively and Reynolds.
It Ends with Us, which also starred Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, Brandon Sklenar and Kevin McKidd, arrived in theaters on August 9 and was a hit with audiences.
The film, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel, earned $148 million at the domestic box office and $350 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
