Filming has stopped: Blake Lively’s latest project, It Ends With Us, was put on hold indefinitely earlier this week

“Due to the ongoing WGA strike and the days lost due to protests, we have to make the difficult decision to temporarily halt production,” the announcement began.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your incredible patience and unwavering dedication throughout this challenging period,” the email continued.

On Monday, filming was temporarily halted for the first time as the film’s producers reached a disagreement with the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) and ongoing protests.

The publication also reported that the reason for the halt is due to “an inability to convince the WGA that Wayfarer Studios’ co-financing status was sufficient to consider the production fell within WGA guidelines.”

Now about 140 people are out of work, and many of them are asking for the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) and the WGA to meet and reach a compromise.

It Ends With Us follows a recent graduate Lily (Lively) after she moves to Boston and decides to start her own business.

After new beginnings, she meets a handsome neurosurgeon named Ryle (Baldoni) and falls for him despite his aversion to committed relationships.

As their romance unfolds, she bumps into her first love, Atlas – played by Brandon Sklenar – and his return makes her question everything.
