Blake Lively will take part in an open-top bus parade in Wrexham with husband Ryan Reynolds on Tuesday night, after the pair missed Monday’s Met Gala.
The actress took to Instagram hours before the posh event to confirm she wouldn’t be attending, and it’s now been revealed she’ll be joining the actor for the city’s celebration.
Last month, Wrexham made history by being promoted back to the English Football League after Ryan and Rob McElhenney bought the club in 2020.
The team’s journey to promotion has received global attention, with viewers rejoicing when they finally earned promotion with a 3-1 win over Borehamwood.
Blake will join Ryan on the open top bus parade, which starts at 6.15pm at the Racecourse Ground before going on his tour of the city.

Speaking to Access Hollywood at a screening of Welcome to Wrexham in Los Angeles, Ryan and wife Blake were questioned about what they were planning to do after confirming they would be skipping the Met Gala this year.
To which Ryan replied, ‘We’re in the UK. We’ve got Wrexham business to do.’
And when asked about Wrexham’s incredible season this year, Ryan added: ‘I’m still a little speechless about it, to be totally honest.
“So many things had to go right that involved dumb luck, besides of course building a strong foundation.
“A lot of things went well. Things we never expected.
“Like another team has been incredible all season, which created such tension not just in Wrexham, but globally for anyone watching Wrexham. It’s been quite a remarkable journey.’
On his The Always Sunny podcast, McElhenney also confirmed that he flew 24 hours to Wrexham to do the bus tour.
Blake and Ryan were conspicuously absent from the Met Gala, and the actress was rather stunning with her incredible looks at the event.

The dress code for this year’s fashion extravaganza was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty – a tribute to the controversial German fashion designer, known for his work with Chanel, who passed away in 2019.
But Blake Lively’s absence was so widely noticed that she was trending on Twitter after her past Met Gala looks were praised year after year.
Fans tweeted, “There’s no Met Gala without Blake Lively,” and shared her past fashion masterpieces on social media.
At the grand reopening of Tiffany & Co.’s Fifth Avenue store, she told the press that instead of gracing the carpet, she will be watching from home.
According to Glamor, after a reporter complimented her 2022 look, she replied, “Thank you, that’s really sweet.” I’ll wear it on the couch on Monday.’
Blake and her husband Ryan have attended the event for years, with the actress co-chairing last year’s In America: An Anthology of Fashion themed gala, where they arrived in a gorgeous Versace gown inspired by the Statue of Liberty.
But Blake and Ryan welcomed their fourth child together earlier this year, and Blake only returned to the red carpet earlier this week.
Blake has previously shown her support for Ryan and the Wrexham team by attending several matches, and in March the pair were joined by their four children when they attended the club’s match against York City.
In May 2022, the pair saw Wrexham take on Bromley at the Buildbase FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium in London.
Last August, Ryan revealed that his wife wasn’t particularly happy when he told her he bought the team with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor Rob.
In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! he said, “I remember seeing Blake and saying, ‘I’ve got some bad news and I’ve got some really bad news.’ I slipped into someone’s DMs again. The really bad news is I may have bought half of a fifth tier national football league in Wales.”

Ryan and Rob have insisted that Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson will take the lead on new transfers as the club prepares for life in the English Football League.
This is despite an ironic offer to former Wales captain Gareth Bale to sign for the club as they prepare for life in League Two next season.
Promotion was secured last month following Wrexham’s 3-1 win over Boreham Wood at the Racecourse Ground, ending a 15-year spell in the non-league.
McElhenney and Reynolds were seen on the field after the Wrexham players lifted the National League trophy, having triumphed in a hard-fought promotion race against Notts County.
