Blake Lively makes barbed statement on ‘intimacy safety’ amid claims Justin Baldoni made her ‘uneasy’ during filming It Ends With Us

Blake Lively made a rather pointed statement about ‘intimacy and safety’ on the set of It Ends With Us.

The 36-year-old actress criticized her co-star and director Justin Baldoni, claiming he made her feel “uncomfortable” and that there were tensions on the film set.

In an interview with Digital spy In an article published Saturday, Lively discussed working with intimacy coordinators for scenes that feature passionate physical contact in the new romantic drama.

Speaking to the media, she stressed the importance of on-set intimacy coordinators working with the cast to “safely” choreograph on-screen actions.

Her seemingly hidden comments came after claims emerged that Baldoni made her feel “uncomfortable” during filming.

When Lively was asked specifically about intimacy safety on their film set, she responded, “Oh, that’s a good question. I think having an intimacy coordinator is crucial.”

She emphasized that all other movement sequences are carefully choreographed on the set of a film, and that intimacy scenes require the same level of care and guidance.

“I think you’re coordinating stunts, you’re coordinating dances. It’s, it’s choreography,” she said.

“So, to be able to say, you know, this is what happens here, here, and here in a stunt; and this is what happens here, here, and here in a dance. But, like, now you’re just going to… put your bodies together and your mouths and whatever. And just, action and cut… that’s a little ridiculous,” she explained.

“I think it’s critical for everyone’s safety that the choreography is done well,” she concluded.

Her response seemed especially clear after claims emerged that Baldoni made her feel “uncomfortable” during filming.

Lively felt “very embarrassed” by Baldoni and was said to have felt “uncomfortable” about a kissing scene.

Insiders say she felt uncomfortable as they were preparing to film a scene in which Baldoni would lift Lively into the air, they told TMZ on Wednesday.

Sources told the site that the actor has been suffering from back problems and that he sought help from a trainer prior to the scene in which he lifts the weights.

Baldoni then allegedly asked the trainer how much Lively weighed and for help preparing his back to avoid injury.

When Lively heard about his exchange, she was reportedly embarrassed by his weight.

With Lively expecting her fourth child with husband Ryan Reynolds in February 2023, sources claimed the comment hit the actress hard.

TMZ sources also mentioned another alleged incident that bothered Lively on set: a kissing scene that “lingered” longer than necessary.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Baldoni and Lively for comment.

Further fueling rumors of a disagreement, Baldoni also addressed the “friction” on set and hired a crisis manager to help manage the tension.

Adapted from Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel of the same name, this romantic drama centers on a woman named Lily Bloom (Lively) who experiences a fairytale romance that goes awry when handsome neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Baldoni) begins abusing her.

She then reconnects with her childhood sweetheart Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar) and leans on him as she struggles through a terrifying situation, eventually becoming entangled in a very complicated love triangle.

It Ends With Us is in theaters now.
