Blake Lively defended by Bethenny Frankel in bizarre clip amid It Ends With Us drama – and Jennifer Lopez gets a mention!

Bethenny Frankel defended Blake Lively in a bizarre video responding to the It Ends With Us controversy.

Frankel, 53, appeared to defend Lively as she described how celebrities tend to attract multiple lucrative audiences, which can overwhelm their target audience.

The film is about a woman who gets caught up in an abusive love affair. Lively, 36, has been criticized for the way she promoted the film.

The actress recently did a pop-up for her line of non-alcoholic beverages, Betty Buzz, which was inspired by Lively’s character in the film. She also launched her own line of hair care products last week, ahead of the film’s release.

In a video Frankel made during a walk on the beach, he seemed to sympathize with Lively: “I think celebrities have peaked now and are trying to triple or quadruple their income from businesses other than their core businesses.

‘And traditionally celebrities just made money from movies and television. But now it’s just become common practice to try to do as much bum rush and smash and grab as possible.

“So if she’s dressed, has her hair done, has her makeup on and is doing a press tour for a movie, and she’s leaving her family and her kids and him behind, she’s going to make the most of it.”

She compared Blake’s current situation to that of Jennifer Lopez, who released two films earlier this year, released an album, went on a (now cancelled) tour, and also promoted her Delola cocktail line.

‘And that was also a problem with Jennifer Lopez, who was promoting two movies, her drink, her relationship, an album, a tour, and the audience was getting waterboarded and didn’t want that.

‘And in this case, what happens is, this is a very sensitive subject, the basis of this film, and to promote a cocktail brand and a hair care product and to talk so lightheartedly about a subject that is not a lighthearted subject for most people, but women in particular, you’re all a very smart audience, and it just doesn’t sit well. That’s what I think is going on.

“You can’t get 25 pounds of shit into a five-pound bag. It’ll blow up and you’ll have shit everywhere,” she concluded humorously.

She added an explanation in her caption: ‘As someone who grew up in a home where domestic violence was prevalent and who has experience monetizing media, I think this is the perfect storm, a cautionary tale and a confluence of mishandling of circumstances and over-communicating without sensitivity to the topic.

“I also believe that the higher the pedestal we put people on, the harder they fall. I don’t believe in pile-on-pile cancellations. I believe in learning from our own and other people’s blind spots and mistakes. #itendswithus #celebrities #blakelively #pr #movies #branding”

In addition to the promotional style, It Ends With Us has also been in the news for an alleged feud between Lively and director Justin Baldoni.

Frankel attended the It Ends With Us premiere in New York City last week and captured her unforgettable night at the event.

The former Real Housewives of New York actress opened up about the wardrobe woes she faced after rain prevented her from looking glamorous on Tuesday night.

The always candid star shared photos of her unforgettable night out, including Bethenny shielding herself from the storm with a scarf as she walked through the Big Apple in her red carpet outfit.

“My dress strap came loose,” Bethenny explains in the video attached to the post. “I was standing in the rain, my shoes, which are beautiful, are soaked. The wheels are off. I can’t go outside. That’s why no one will take me anywhere, it’s a huge disaster.”

Bethenny was in a car, apparently just after the premiere, showing the camera her broken wristband and shoes.

In the caption she explained, “Well only @blakelively could get me out of my pajamas to eat chicken salad and only I can turn a glamorous evening into a disaster before the event even starts,” she began.

“The good news is that the journey is always as much fun as the destination, as long as there are margaritas, laughter, a wardrobe malfunction, and a monsoon involved. I suppose ‘it ends with us’ but it starts with me making a fool of myself…”

‘PS. Blake looked gorgeous and I walked past Anna Wintour at the popcorn stand and I audibly gasped… she told me my Met Gala invite was in the mail and we were supposed to go shopping at TJ Maxx together.

“Totally insane,” she concluded, followed by a popcorn, umbrella and margarita emoji, and a bunch of hashtags.

The post included photos showing her at different stages of the evening, from her perfectly groomed, red carpet-ready look to her attempt to dodge the rain.

Bethenny sparkled in a pink corset-inspired dress, an elegant floral necklace and a pink-inspired makeup palette.

She looked incredibly striking on the red carpet with a bejeweled Valentino bag in her hand.

But Bethenny’s troubles began when she left her residence, sharing photos of herself braving the rain.

She used a sheer scarf to protect herself from the wet weather and posted a funny selfie with the cloth over her head.

But overall, the night seemed to be a success, with Bethenny sharing happy snaps of herself at the theater and drinking margaritas at a restaurant.

In It Ends with Us, Blake plays Lily Bloom, a woman who begins a passionate — and later violent — relationship with Ryle Kincaid, played by Baldoni.

The film was directed by Baldoni and is an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 romantic novel of the same name.
