Blacklist of federal employees who oppose Trump for president set to be released right before 2024 election

A group focused on exposing the liberal biases of government officials plans to release this summer a list of names of those who could be hostile to Donald Trump’s border agenda.

The American Accountability Foundation (AAF) received a $100,000 grant from the conservative Heritage Foundation in May to investigate the backgrounds, social media posts and comments of high-ranking government officials.

Tom Jones, a veteran political operative and former Republican Hill aide, is leading AAF in building the database of “bureaucrats” the organization believes are “likely to hinder the efforts of a future president.”

The purpose of AAF’s Project Sovereignty 2025 is to publish online in late summer a list of a hundred government officials that a new government could look to for reassignments or dismissals.

Former President Trump has promised to take a wrecking ball to the so-called deep-state bureaucracy if he wins a second term in 2024 — and likely lists like this could provide a road map.

Tom Jones, president of the American Accountability Foundation, is leading an effort to investigate the backgrounds and social media posts of government officials to expose their liberal and anti-Trump biases ahead of the 2024 election

“Americans saw how deep state bureaucrats did everything they could to obstruct Donald Trump’s agenda during his presidency, and we must ensure that never happens to a future conservative president again,” Jones said in a statement to DailyMail.com.

In particular, the group is focused on exposing those at the Department of Homeland Security and other related agencies who could serve as roadblocks to addressing the southern border crisis.

“For now, we’re looking at people involved in immigration, primarily DHS, but other agencies as well,” the AAF chairman said.

He added: ‘[W]We look at the Department of Homeland Security because it has a large number of rotten bureaucrats.”

The border remains top of mind for right-wing voters heading into November – and Republicans are looking to capitalize on it ahead of the presidential election.

Nearly eight million migrants have been apprehended illegally crossing the southern border since President Joe Biden took office. Biden reversed nearly all of Trump’s policies on illegal immigration when he took office in January 2021, and the implementation of lax borders led to the House of Representatives’ impeachment of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Jones and his group rely on tips from conservative contacts, including government officials, to investigate left-leaning employees.

The effort focuses on career officials who are not appointed by partisan administrations but are permanent fixtures in government and often transcend changes in presidencies.

The decision to publish the findings online in a kind of Republican blacklist worries some, who feel it is a kind of doxxing that pro-Trump fanatics can use to attack government officials with liberal biases.

“It appears their goal is to threaten and incite fear among federal employees,” said Jacqueline Simon, policy director for the American Federation of Government Employees. told the Associated Press.

Simon’s union supports President Joe Biden’s reelection efforts.

Conservatives have long believed that the federal workforce has grown too large and often exceeds its authority.

These concerns only intensified under Trump as multiple agencies and their top officials came under fire. The Justice Department and FBI in particular came under scrutiny for launching investigations that many claimed were a personal vendetta against the former president.

“AAF’s team consists of campaign staffers who use the traditional tools of opposition research to educate the public about senior leaders in the administration, and the same tools we used to expose Biden henchmen,” Jones explained.

“We are looking for indications that these senior bureaucrats will put their own personal left-wing ideological agenda above the policies of the elected President of the United States, thereby posing a threat to democracy.”
