Blackburn Rovers’ newest young star Adam Wharton is ready to snub Premier League interest and stay with his hometown club.

The 18-year-old only made his professional debut last month, but according to The Sun he’s already caught the eye for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s team.

Wharton made his Rovers bow in their 4-0 Carabao Cup win against Hartlepool in August, starting alongside his brother Scott, after both came through the Blackburn academy.

Coming off the bench against Stoke City to make his league debut, before being given starts for the win over Blackpool and the defeat to Bristol City last time out.

Wharton’s current deal runs out this summer, so the club are keen to tie the youngster down to a new deal after his impressive breakthrough to the first team.

Blackburn’s young stars are gaining notable interest from Premier League suitors, with Wharton’s team-mate Ashley Phillips attracting attention for Tottenham.

However, the 17-year-old is also set to sign a new deal at Ewood Park and stay with the Championship club.

Rovers have made a decent start to their league campaign, currently sitting seventh in the Championship and are set to host Watford on Tuesday night if the current football blackout is lifted.
