Black Friday: What time do stores open?
Black Friday has become something of an anachronism in the e-commerce age. The day after Thanksgiving marks the official start of the holiday shopping season, but retailers have been flooding their websites and their customers’ email inboxes for weeks with early Black Friday deals.
If history is a guideline And as advertisers may believe, the best bargains can still be found from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, a four-day period known simply as BFCM in the retail world. That may be especially true for big ticket items, seasonal merchandise and the latest trendy products.
However, consumer advocates note that deep discounts are not a one-time opportunity. They advise shoppers to compare stores, research price histories and… read the fine print to make sure they buy what they really want, at a good price.
That said, some people enjoy getting out from behind a computer or phone screen to soak up the holiday atmosphere and music at a local mall or shopping area. Retailers promising in-store experiences and exclusive offers to get them through the door.
