BLACK FRIDAY Monitor DEALS 2023: KEY INFORMATION
When do Black Friday monitor deals start in 2023?
Black Friday 2023 falls November 24. The actual date shifts, but the day of the week remains the same: it is always the Friday after Thanksgiving.
While Black Friday monitor deals officially start on November 24, based on past years we can predict that retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart will launch early sales starting in October. Amazon has also just announced that its second Prime Day sale will take place on October 10 and 11, so expect early Black Friday deals from other retailers to kick off during the two-day sale event and in the run-up to Black Friday itself.
Thanks to the early sale, it’s no longer the case that the best Black Friday monitor deals are released on the day itself, November 24. In recent years, retailers have released record low prices on a range of monitors during early sales, prompting consumers to make an exhibition before Black Friday itself. I’ll analyze all the early deals in this guide, so if you want to avoid shopping on Black Friday, there are still plenty of impressive bargains to be had before the holiday weekend.

Which Black Friday monitor deals do we expect in 2023?
What Black Friday monitor deals can we expect to see in this year’s sale? Last year the biggest monitor deal (in my opinion) was the HP M27ha, a 27-inch FHD display for almost half off, while gamers there got a huge 36% discount on the Samsung Odyssey G9, making it high-end scrapped ultrawide gaming to under $950.
This year we expect similar discounts, if not better, on these and countless other monitors across the board.
What specifications should I pay attention to when buying a monitor on Black Friday?
One of the things to watch out for when looking for monitor sales on Black Friday is that retailers are trying to clear out old stock. This means you might come across a really good deal, only to find out later that the monitor is several years old and has outdated specs. Of course, that doesn’t make it useless, as most monitors are still perfectly usable.
Keep in mind that monitors should have at least 1080p resolution, which is really the minimum HD resolution these days, but preferably 4K if you can afford it. From there, your needs will vary depending on the type of work you need your monitor for.
For example, if you do professional work such as photography or video editing, you need a monitor with color spaces that allow for good color correction. At least as high as DCI-P3 98% color gamut support, as this ensures that any other monitor viewing professional content will see images and video in the correct colors across the board. Brightness is also an important factor in the color quality and accuracy of the image, with a higher number being better. Going for 300 nits and higher is a good start.
Meanwhile, for gaming monitors, the two most important factors apart from resolution are refresh rate and response time. For the former, the higher the number the better, as this represents the number of times per second the image on the screen is refreshed. Refresh rates of 144 Hz and higher are particularly good.
The latter should have as low a number as possible as this represents the amount of time it takes to go from one color to another, with lower numbers meaning a much sharper and clearer image. A response time of 1 ms is especially nice when gaming and is what you want to aim for.
