Black Baltimore high school athletics director is charged ‘with using AI to create fake racist rant he then blamed on white principal’

A black athletic director at a Baltimore high school has been accused of using AI to make a recording of the school’s white principal delivering a racist rant.

Dazhon Darien, 31, previously worked as athletic director at Pikesville High School but was the target of an investigation into mishandling of school funds.

In retaliation, Darien allegedly created a fake audio recording of the school’s principal, Eric Eiswert, “spewing racial and anti-Semitic slurs toward staff and students.”

“I really don’t understand why I have to put up with these stupid bastards here every day,” the speaker says.

“Between these ungrateful black kids who can’t get out of a paper bag, or these teachers who don’t get it. How difficult is it to get these students to meet the expectations at their level?’

The speaker said, “And if I have to get one more complaint from one more Jew in this community, I’m going to join the other side.”

Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough said his department was working with the FBI and forensic experts from the University of California at Berkeley to investigate the recording, which circulated online in January 2024.

“Dazhon Darien, the school’s athletic director, produced the recording as revenge against Principal Eiswert, who initiated an investigation into the mishandling of school funds,” McCullough confirmed after the investigation.

Darien was arrested Thursday morning at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport on an outstanding warrant abc13.

The former athletic director now faces charges of stalking, disrupting school activities and retaliation against a witness. He is currently being held on a $5,000 bond.

The feud between Darien and Eiswert began in July 2023, when Darien became director of athletics and fired a longtime coach who worked for Pikesville High School without the principal’s permission.

Further conflict arose when Darien authorized a $1,916 payment to his roommate, who also worked for the junior varsity basketball coach at the school.

Darien claimed she acted as an assistant soccer coach for the girls soccer team, despite the coach never assisting during the season.

Court documents allege that this payment bypassed proper procedures.

Billy Burke, the executive director of the union representing Baltimore County administrators, previously told the newspaper Baltimore banner in January, when audio circulated that the voice is not Eiswert.

“We believe it is generated by AI. He didn’t say that,” Burke said. “If I was in that position, my heart would be a little broken today.

‘He berates them [the comments in the recording]and he did not make those statements.”

It is unclear where and when the recording comes from, but at one point a person named Kathy is addressed. The community speculates it is Assistant Principal Kathy Albert WBFF.

The recording mentions other staff members, including one who, according to the speaker, “should never have been hired.”

When it came to another employee, the speaker said, “I’m going to drag his black dick out of here somehow.”

“The BCPS Department of Schools was made aware of an alleged audio recording by Principal Eiswert that contained derogatory comments about some PHS students and staff,” Joseph said.

“We immediately notified the BCPS Office of Investigations and they are investigating this matter. While this is a personnel matter and I am limited in what I can share, I will provide an update as more information becomes available.”

According to Eiswert’s biography on the school website, he has worked for Baltimore County Schools since 1997, and before joining Pikesville, he was assistant principal at New Town High School.
