A black woman claimed she was kicked out of her first class fight after a white passenger accused her of being racist.
The passenger named Erica explained in a series of TikTok videos posted on December 29 that she and her partner had disembarked from their American Airlines flight.
The couple had boarded their flight from Chicago to Austin, Texas, which was already delayed by three hours, and were settling into their first-class seats when the altercation began.
“When I boarded, I put my backpack under my front seat and the flight attendant asked me to move my backpack,” Erica said.
‘I said, ‘That’s fine. I can hang it above me if there’s still room up there.’
Erica said she was trying to straighten the bags in the overhead bin when the white man next to her yelled, “Don’t touch my bag.” Don’t touch my stuff.’
‘I said, ‘Okay. I’m sorry. My bad.’ “I could put my bag somewhere else, even if it’s right above my seat,” she said.
The flight attendant offered to help Erica move her bag into another compartment, but she was concerned that her bag, which contained some of her valuables such as her laptop and iPad, was too far from her.

Erica said the man (pictured) claimed he ‘felt threatened’ after she told the flight attendant to keep her bag with her
‘I don’t know anyone here, and I know them [my] MacBook, iPads in my backpack,” she said. “First class, I paid over a thousand dollars for these tickets.”
After the flight attendant walked away, Erica claims the same man began whispering to his wife and then shouted, “I’m being threatened.” I feel threatened.’
“He was yelling at the people working on the plane telling them he felt threatened and that he felt uncomfortable because I didn’t want my bag to be directly above him,” she said.
“He said it was a ‘race thing,’ and that he felt threatened because he’s white and I’m black, and that I said something racist to him even though I never spoke to him or even said anything else out loud.” I didn’t want my bag to be next to people I didn’t know because it had products in it.’
Erica said that after the man said something, she and her partner were escorted off the plane and told “it’s a racing thing.”
“The flight attendant literally said, ‘This is a racing thing,’” she said. ‘What is the race problem? Just tell me, because I don’t understand.’
She said the flight attendant pushed her as she escorted them off the plane and when she asked for Chicago police to be involved, they told her there was no need.
In another video Erica posted, she captured a crew member touching her partner as they were walked off the plane, while another employee smiled and waved them away as she recorded.

Additionally, another video shows an employee explaining that the crew made a joint decision to remove them from the flight.
She also recorded the man accusing her of being racist as he ignores her and raises his hand to block her recording.
