BJP revokes suspension of Telangana MLA Raja Singh ahead of Assembly polls

The BJP leadership has revoked the suspension of its Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh in view of his explanation in response to the party’s announcement earlier, Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy said in a statement on Sunday.

In August last year, Raja Singh was expelled from the party following his alleged controversial comments against ‘Islam and Prophet Muhammad’ in a video that was later deleted by the social media platform on which the video was uploaded.

He was arrested under the Preventive Detention Act. However, the Telangana High Court had in November 2022 set aside the PD Act invoked against him. He was later granted bail.

“The Central Disciplinary Committee of the BJP has decided to revoke the suspension of Shri T Raja Singh MLA Goshamahal of the BJP after careful consideration of his explanation in response to the notice issued by the party. This is for the information of all parties. concerned,” said Kishan Reddy’s statement.

Raja Singh is known for his outspoken views in support of Hindutva.

He is facing several police cases in Hyderabad, including cases related to alleged communal crimes.
