Bizarre moment US Open leader Bryson Dechambeau sneaks into the woods to get stretched out by his trainer… and then immediately hits the longest drive of the day!

Bryson DeChambeau wanted a private moment away from the camera from his trainer in the middle of the third round of the US Open on Saturday.

He asked the cameras not to follow him, but NBC used a drone to get an overhead shot of the clubhouse leader and his trainer, which left DeChambeau feeling his best.

Whatever stretches were in the woods clearly helped DeChambeau as he hit his longest drive of the day on his next swing.

A strong approach on No. 11 helped DeChambeau sink a birdie on the par-4 hole.

DeChambeau has been racing mostly at Pinehurst and held a several-stroke lead for most of Saturday’s back lap.

It’s unclear whether DeChambeau was told in the middle of his round that NBC was flying a drone over what he planned to be a private stretching session.

DeChambeau hopes to earn his second major tournament victory on Sunday after nearly pulling off a feat at the PGA Championship last month.

DeChambeau finished in second place behind Xander Schauffele after a phenomenal final lap.

Now in Pinehurst. DeChambeau will likely play from the front instead of trying to chase the leader.

DeChambeau’s other previous major victory came at the 2020 US Open, meaning he has never won a major tournament, not in the middle of a pandemic that involved limits on attendance.

The most likely challengers to disrupt DeChambeau’s second major victory appear to be the trio of Rory McIlroy, Matthieu Pavon and Patrick Cantlay.
