Bizarre moment when a New York subway driver stalks a passenger for falling asleep with him, leading to a wild brawl with another passenger

A video of a subway fight in New York City this week has gone viral again.
The wild footage shows an angry man berating another male passenger for falling asleep on his shoulder.
“You’re sleeping and I’m not your fucking pillow, damn it,” the man yelled in Spanish.
He continued to lose patience with the person and told him he had better switch seats so he could sit next to another rider who was also asleep.
“I’m not your damn pillow. If you want to sleep, sleep next to him, because you both sleep,” he said, pointing to someone sitting across from them.

The man continued to warn the passenger next to him that he was not his “f****** pillow.”
‘Do you understand? Do you understand? I’m not your damn pillow,” he yelled.
The passenger made a comment about his mother, which prompted the man to respond by elbowing him three times, while other customers sitting around them quickly got up and ran into the subway.
‘What are you going to do now?’ said the assailant, staring at him for a moment before the man he had pointed to earlier stood up and punched him in the face.
The men traded punches and held each other for nearly 30 seconds, only stopping when the train arrived at a station.

Fellow New York City subway passengers took to social media in shock at the passenger’s violent response.
One person remembered sitting on the train and dealing with a passenger who kept falling asleep on his shoulder while reading a book.
“I gave him a quick shake and laughed it off,” he wrote. “Dude said sorry and that he’s had a long day.”
Another social media user understood the rider’s frustration but said his response was inappropriate.
“But who in their right mind thinks throwing elbows is the right response?”
