Collingwood star Nick Daicos got more than he bargained for after scoring a routine goal during the second quarter of the AFL Grand Final.
In bizarre scenes, the Magpies’ young gun also held a plastic bag during the see-saw match against the Brisbane Lions at the MCG.
Predictably, it didn’t take long for footy fans to mock the 20-year-old.
“Should be fined for littering,” one supporter commented on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
“A $2,000 fine for that,” another joked.

Daicos marked a loose ball – and the plastic bag – with the decider on the edge of a knife
Daicos’ teammate Bobby Hill showed the Magpies how it’s done on the final stage, with the diminutive forward scoring three early goals in the performance of his career.
It follows the former GWS star who makes a triumphant return to the sport after being diagnosed with testicular cancer in May last year.
At half-time the Magpies were ahead by a goal, with the lead changing hands several times in an exciting match.
Meanwhile, Collingwood star Nathan Murphy failed a head injury assessment and was ruled out for the rest of the match after an early knockout.
The key defender took a blow to the shoulder directly on the head as he competed for a loose ball in the first quarter.
Richmond legend Matthew Richardson called the accidental collision “nasty.”
Teammate Patrick Lipinski was activated as a sub.
