Billy Miller died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head after a long battle with mental health problems, an autopsy report has revealed.
Suits star Miller died aged 43 on September 15 – with his heartbroken mother revealing he had committed suicide after a 'courageous' battle with bipolar depression.
Miller's autopsy report, obtained by Radaronlinereveals that the actor was found dead in his bathtub “with an apparent gunshot wound to the head” at his home in Austin, Texas.
Miller had drugs in his system at the time of his death, including “cocaine and its metabolites, diphenhydramine and amphetamine,” as well as a blood alcohol content of 0.08.
First responders at the scene found “multiple letters indicating suicidal intent” and “a revolver chambered for .410 shotgun shells” in “the descendant's right hand.”

Miller died just two days before his 44th birthday.
Miller played Marcus Specter, the younger brother of main character Harvey Spectre, from seasons 6 to 9 of Suits.
Lead actor Gabriel Macht wrote on X: 'Rip my TV bro… I'm touched by your thoughtfulness, your authentic, honest approach to your art.'
Legal drama co-creator Aaron Kosh also posted a touching tribute to the actor, saying it was “very sad news for the entire Suits family.” Miller's co-star, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, has not spoken out following his death.
The soap actor and three-time Daytime Emmy winner, who also starred on The Young and the Restless, died Friday in Austin, Texas, a soap opera journalist reported. Michael Fairman.
Patricia Miller released a statement Soap Opera Digest to clear up rumors circulating about her son's death.
“He fought a long, hard battle with bipolar depression for years,” Patricia said of her late son. “He did everything he could to get the disease under control.”
Patricia said her son “loved his family, his friends and his fans, but in the end the disease won the battle and he surrendered his life.”

She added that “the other causes of death being told are not true,” as his cause of death had been the subject of speculation on a number of fan blogs, adding, “I wish they were, but that's just not Like this.'
Patricia said she was grateful for the kind response she received from fans following her son's tragic death.
“I would like to personally thank the many fans and personal friends for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers and condolences sent to me and my family on the devastating death of my beautiful son BJ – Billy Miller,” she said.
Patricia continued: 'We all loved him so much and are desperately trying to cope with our loss. I have nothing further to say.'
She ended by saying, “Thank you for the love and support.”
A number of Billy's friends and fans responded to Patricia's statement on Twitter.
“To the Miller family, when you talked to Billy he could always make you feel special,” one user said. 'He will always have a place in my heart. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. May peace and love surround you.”
Another said: 'This loss really hurts. I've thought of little else these past two days. God bless Billy always. I pray he is at peace now.
'We will never forget his kindness, talent and that beautiful smile. My sincere condolences to his brave mother Patricia and to all who loved him.”
One user said: 'It's so hard to believe that someone with such a beautiful smile struggled so deeply,' to which another replied: 'This is how it works…I struggled with depression and there are pictures of me smiling the biggest had my face, but I carried most of it inside.'

Soap vet and Selling Sunset star Chrishell Strause posted a memorial for her late boyfriend on Monday: “Too many feelings, but you're gone way too soon and I'm so glad I got to work with you all these years, but so are you can call a friend. I hope you are at peace now.”
The actor's death occurred just two days before this 44th birthday. Miller is survived by his mother, Patricia, and his sister, Megan.
The actor's representatives previously claimed that he was suffering from “manic depression” at the time of his death TMZ.

His death was confirmed by a representative of The Belmont, a restaurant and bar in Los Angeles, California that Miller co-owned, Fairman said.
Oklahoma-born Miller worked in the mailroom at Industry Entertainment before being signed to Wilhelmina as a model.
He graduated with a communications degree from the University of Texas before moving to Los Angeles. He got his start in the entertainment industry after landing a role on the popular soap opera All My Children, where he played Richie Novak.
He then joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in 2008, playing the fourth version of Billy Abbott. He left the show in 2014.
He received three Daytime Emmys for the role: two for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and one for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Miller joined the cast of General Hospital in 2014. He played Jason Morgan and Drew Cain and was a series regular until 2019.
He also had credits on Showtime's Ray Donovan and Apple TV+'s Truth Be Told.
Tributes from fans poured in on social media following the initial news of his death.
Actress Octavia Spencer, who co-starred with Billy in the TV series Truth Be Told, shared a tribute to the actor on Instagram.
'I am speechless. I was laying here scrolling through IG and came across a post that we lost Billy Miller. To his family, legions of fans and our #TruthBeTold family, my deepest condolences,” she wrote beneath a photo of the actor.
“I'm so sad to hear that Billy Miller has passed away. I loved watching him on all my young children and the restless and general hospital. May he rest in peace,” someone else wrote on Twitter.
