Billy Joel’s beautiful 10-acre waterfront property on Long Island with a massive mansion comes on the market

Legendary singer Billy Joel is ‘Movin’ Out’ from his 26-acre Long Island waterfront estate and is hoping for a $49 million payday on the market.

Joel, 74, is selling the North Shore mansion in Oyster Bay, a Long Island suburb, after paying $22.5 million for it in 2002.

He recently added the parcels of land he owns to what is known as Middlesea, in an effort to restore the original 1950s version of the estate.

The platinum-selling piano man briefly put the property on the market in 2006 for $37.5 million.

Bonnie Williamson, the listing agent for International Realty’s Daniel Gale Sotheby’s, said Joel and his wife Alexis Roderick have been spending more time in Florida lately, necessitating the sale.

The estate features a 20,000-square-foot mansion, a floating doc, and a beach house with several guest rooms.

There’s also a gatehouse, two outdoor pools – one of which Joel more or less covered to use as a music room – and even a helipad.

One of the renovations currently underway is a children’s playroom, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The main building also has everything from a spa to a hair salon to a bowling alley and a wine cellar.

Williamson said renovations and construction are scheduled to be completed by late summer or early fall.

“Whoever buys wants to make their own choices about how to paint and decorate the kitchen and maybe furnish the kitchen,” she added, explaining why he’s selling halfway through the renovation.

Joel’s Florida estate is located in the town of Lantana. He bought it in 2015 for $22 million.

The estate is located on Center Island, a small island about 40 miles east of Midtown Manhattan, close to Joel’s hometown of Hicksville.

He also reportedly owns a second Long Island property in Sag Harbor.

Even if they don’t sell for market price, Middlesea will likely be the most expensive home for sale in Oyster Bay, with the next highest price at $8.5 million, Zillow says.

However, he will have to battle a slumping housing market as sales of luxury products in Long Island fell 34 percent in the first quarter of 2022, according to expert Douglas Elliman.

A Long Island native, Joel has written enduring hits such as “Piano Man,” “Just the Way You Are,” “Only the Good Die Young,” “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song),” “Pressure,” “Uptown Girl” and “We didn’t start the fire.”

He has sold over 150 million records and has had a residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden for the past nine years.

He will do a stadium tour with fellow rock and roll legend Stevie Nicks in 2024.
