The Buffalo Bills really looked at ease at home after a snowstorm postponed their AFC Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers by more than 24 hours, advancing to the divisional round with a 31-17 win.

The Bills will get their divisional round rematch against the Chiefs two seasons after their epic overtime clash that prompted the NFL to change overtime rules.

Kansas City and Buffalo combined to score 25 points and had four lead changes in the final two minutes of regulation, leading to overtime.

The Chiefs won the coin toss and promptly scored the game-winning touchdown, denying the Bills the ball in the extra frame. Now both teams must gain offensive possession in overtime at the end of an NFL postseason game.

Despite some turbulence this season, Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen performed phenomenally with four total touchdowns.

The game was postponed more than 24 hours from its original start time on Sunday afternoon after New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency and deemed it unsafe for fans to travel to the game during the snowstorm.

On Sunday night, fans were paid $20 an hour to clear Highmark Stadium of snow.

Before kick-off, approximately 50 centimeters of snow fell in the stadium. The field was cleared before playing time.

Even vigorous cleaning efforts couldn’t get all the snow out of the stadium, as Bills fans threw some around after each touchdown.

Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph wasn’t terrible against Allen. He had 229 passing yards and two touchdowns, with just one interception.

Buffalo’s James Cook was the game’s leading rusher with 79 yards, followed closely by Allen with 74. Stefon Diggs finished the game with 52 receiving yards after entering the game in a colorful jersey.

At kick-off the temperature in Orchard Park was 18 degrees and dropped continuously throughout the match, dropping into the low teens.

More snow is expected in Buffalo this week, but don’t expect a second straight postponed game for the Bills.

The epic Chiefs-Bills rematch will be the divisional round finale, scheduled for a Sunday kickoff at 6:30 PM on CBS.

The Bills have won the last two meetings between the teams, while Kansas City has not defeated Buffalo in regulation in the last four meetings.

Oddly enough, the last five meetings between the teams have all taken place at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs haven’t played in Buffalo since 2020.

With the Bills win, all four of the AFC’s top seeds advanced to the divisional round.
