The bizarre details in billionaire pub baron Justin Hemmes’ wild 40 hour party for 5000 Merivale staff as he throws ’90s themed rave in Sydney
Justin Hemmes treats his Merivale staff to the wildest party of the year every January and he has spared no expense for his latest performance.
The billionaire pub baron hosted a rave at Ivy nightclub in Sydney on Monday, which started at 2pm and lasted for 40 hours.
The room was decorated with the bizarre addition of 800 cuddly cuddly toys, as well as huge inflatable animals in psychedelic colours, smiley balloons and yellow stars.
The theme for the event was “90s Good Vibes” and the Ivy was transformed into a “time capsule for a music festival,” Hemmes said The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday.
“It’s a pretty epic and iconic annual event that takes many months of planning,” he said.

More than 5,000 Merivale employees partied until the early hours as they were entertained by 30 DJs, a number of skaters performing 90s choreography, theater performances and rave dancers.
Food was provided by a pop-up canteen at Mumu restaurant with 4,000 cheeseburger spring rolls and 2,000 slices of pizza, along with fresh fruit, the release said.
The 51-year-old had his model girlfriend Madeline Holtznagel, 27, on his arm and she was dressed to impress.
Madeline stole the show in a barely-there blue bikini top that barely covered her bust and was adorned with teardrop jewels.

Madeline amped up her futuristic look with a metallic clutch bag and reflective bug eye sunglasses.
For makeup, she chose a pink and blue palette with a nude lipstick and wore her blonde locks in mermaid waves.
Justin, meanwhile, went for a hippie theme in an orange shirt and green striped animal print vest, teamed with green marijuana-themed corduroy pants.

Justin’s big parties for his staff have become folklore at Merivale and are traditionally held at the end of January after the Christmas period, when the catering industry is quieter.
At last year’s party, Justin thanked his staff for the “best year of his life.”
“I’m so grateful to all of you and I want you to have the best night tonight. Look around you, this is electric, it is magic, and it is all because of you.
“So thank you for the best year of my life and here’s to a better year ahead!” he said to loud applause.
