Billionaire heiress Ivy Love Getty – the great-granddaughter of oil magnate J. Paul Getty – has filed for divorce from her husband Tobias ‘Toby’ Engel.
The 29-year-old artist and model has ended her marriage to the photographer and actor after four years together. Page six.
Getty filed for divorce in January. The couple entered into a prenuptial agreement to protect her billionaire family’s assets.
“Obviously, as a member of the Getty family, Ivy is cautious about legal entanglements,” a source told the publication.
The couple had a private wedding in December 2020, before holding a more public and lavish ceremony in November 2021.

According to the court documents, this is a ‘contested’ divorce.
That means the former couple did not reach a settlement with a mediator before Getty filed the paperwork.
Ivy has since deleted some photos with Engel from her Instagram, although he still appears in some carousel posts from their wedding.
Getty and Engel first met through a family member and later started dating after reuniting at a Paris Fashion Week event, before tying the knot.
In 2021, the glamorous duo celebrated their union with a wedding in San Francisco at the Getty mansion, a year after they tied the knot privately.
Ivy told me at the time Fashion, ‘It’s like everything I could have dreamed of and more. So it’s wild when something so magical becomes a reality because you’ve thought about it but didn’t really think it would happen. Miracles happen.’
In 2022, she shared never-before-seen photos from the lavish San Francisco wedding on her social media.
Ivy said yes to Toby at the San Francisco City Hall reception and impressed her guests, including actress Anya Taylor-Joy.
The photos provided a behind-the-scenes look at the numerous designer dresses she wore at the event.

‘So incredibly special. One year,” the socialite wrote on her social page, with a heart emoji in a message addressed to her husband.
She shared several photos from the couple’s wedding, including from their wedding reception, where she wore a lace ivory dress with a sheer skirt and a choker collar.
Ivy shared several photos of designers putting the finishing touches on her wedding gowns on her big day, including her dazzling Galiano number, adorned with broken mirrors.
Snaps also showed the bridal party, and Ivy’s rescue dog, wearing her own bridesmaid’s dress.
Guests at the A-list event included members of Ivy’s family, including her aunt Vanessa Getty and her cousin, transgender model and activist Nats Getty.
Also in attendance at the exclusive event were designer Wes Gordon, designer Mimi Wade, influencer Marta Mae, musician Petite Meller, fashion editor Hamish Bowles, activist Marsha Molinari, model Laura Hanson Sims, British TV presenter Fletcher Cowan and filmmaker Christian Coppola.
Ivy is the great-granddaughter of oil magnate Jean Paul Getty and granddaughter of Gordon Peter Getty, who was on the Forbes 400 list of the richest Americans before his death.
Her father, John Gilbert, died in 2020 at the age of 52 from a fentanyl overdose and heart complications.

The most eye-catching element of her ceremony was undoubtedly the dress she wore to the after-party, which she said couldn’t have been designed for Maison Margiela by anyone other than John Galliano.
The dress has a corset in the color of Ivy’s skin tone, which is padded at the hips to make her waist appear smaller. That was covered with tulle, which was then covered with a dress of mirror fragments tied together like jewelry.
“My grandmother always wore John Galliano designs,” Ivy told Vogue. “My grandmother always admired him, so I felt like she was there with me through it all.”
On the big day, she added Louboutin heels and her sapphire engagement ring, which she got when her husband proposed in Capri.
Getty’s great-grandfather owned Getty Oil and was once the richest man in the world. He is also known for refusing to pay his grandson John Paul Getty III’s $17 million ransom after he was kidnapped in the 1970s.
He ended up paying $2.2 million after John’s severed ear was sent to a newspaper in Rome.
The Getty family drama was last seen on the 2018 FX TV show Trust.
