Billie Lourd posted a touching tribute to her late mother Carrie Fisher on Instagram on Friday in celebration of what would have been the late star’s 66th birthday.

The 30-year-old daughter of the legendary actress and writer wrote a touching caption under a childhood photo of the couple.

Affectionately referring to Fisher as her “Momby,” Lourd wrote of the grief she has experienced since her mother’s sudden death from cardiac arrest in 2017 at age 60.

“My mom would have turned 66 today,” began Lourd, whose Instagram handle is @praisethelourd. “I woke up this morning feeling like I had to write a long wise caption, like I know what I’m talking about.”

But the Ticket to Paradise star said she has “no formula or map” as to what to do when the loss of her mother is particularly painful and that no one can be “an expert on grief.”

Billie called grief “the ultimate shape-shifter” and told her 1.5 million followers that people grieving a huge loss will never feel like they “know exactly what to do or feel.”

“And that’s okay,” she added. “Whatever you feel, it’s okay.” The Booksmart star ended her caption by sending love to all the “mourners” and declaring that they are “not alone.”

An only child of Carrie Fisher, Billie grew up under the harsh glow of the Hollywood spotlight.

Her father is Bryan Lourd, 61, one of the most powerful agents in Hollywood, and her mother’s death prevented the tragic passing of another star – Lourd’s legendary grandmother Debbie Reynolds.

Reynolds, a multi-hyphenate from the Golden Age of Hollywood, suffered a massive stroke a day after her daughter’s death, then passed away at the age of 84.

Billie has posted on Instagram in the past about the loss of both her mother and grandmother within a day of each other. In the years since their successive demises, Lourd has repeatedly honored the Star Wars icon and the Singin’ in the Rain legend.

In an interview with City and Country in 2017, the Scream Queens star opened up about stepping out of the “shadow” of her mother and grandmother’s monumental careers.

“I’ve always lived more or less in their shadow,” Lourd said, “and now it’s the first time in my life that I’ve got my life in my hands and I’m on my own.”

The mother of one recently announced she is expecting her second child with husband Austen Rydell, 31. The couple married in March this year after welcoming their son Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell in 2020.

Kingston’s middle name Fisher is a tribute to his late grandmother Carrie. Perhaps Lourd’s second child’s name will be a tribute to her own grandmother Debbie.
