Billie Eilish seemingly takes another swipe at Taylor Swift as she calls three-hour concerts ‘psychotic’ amid alleged feud as they battle over the top spot on the Billboard album chart

Billie Eilish has been accused of overshadowing Taylor Swift as they battle for the top spot on the Billboard album chart following the release of their respective albums.

Although the superstars have publicly gushed over each other in the past, some social media users are convinced the pair are feuding following an interview Eilish gave this week in which she branded three-hour concerts as “psychotic.”

Appearing at Stationhead following the recent release of her new album Hit Me Hard and Soft, the 22-year-old artist slammed the musicians who were putting on super-long shows.

‘No one wants that. You don’t want that. I do not want that. As a fan, I don’t even want that,” said the Bad Guy hitmaker. “My favorite artist in the world, I try not to hear them for three hours.”

The comments sent Swifties into a frenzy as they rushed to defend the 14-time Grammy, whose Eras Tour shows last an average of three hours and 15 minutes.

Similarly, Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, which ended in September, lasted between two and a half to three hours.

Oddly enough, last year Eilish praised both Swift and Beyoncé for being able to “put on a show for so long” that was “filled with so many incredible moments” for their fans.

During that interview with the Los Angeles Timesshe also called Swift an “untouchable superstar.”

Eilish’s latest comments come just two months after she raised eyebrows over criticism of artists releasing multiple editions of their albums on vinyl.

The vocal climate activist exclaimed how “wasteful” it is that “some of the biggest artists in the world” are “creating 40 damn different vinyl packs that have something else unique just to get you to keep buying more.”

Despite never mentioning Swift or any particular artist, fans interpreted her comments as a jab at the Fortnight singer, 34, as she has released numerous vinyl versions of her albums.

During her interview with the Billboard in March, Billie criticized artists for the “wasteful” practice of releasing numerous vinyl versions of albums to increase sales.

“For some reason it’s very important for some artists to make all kinds of vinyl and packaging,” she claimed. “Which increases sales and numbers and makes them more money and makes them more profitable.”

“I can’t even tell you how wasteful it is,” she continued. ‘I find it very frustrating when someone who is really trying to be sustainable goes out of their way and tries to involve everyone on my team in being sustainable.

The Bad Guy singer is not exempt from this practice, as her latest studio album, Happier Than Ever, was available in eight different vinyl variations.

However, the variants were “100% recycled black vinyl, plus recycled scraps for colored variants and shrink wrap made from sugar cane,” according to Billboard.

Eilish went on to say that she finds it “so wasteful” and “annoying” to watch “all your favorite artists do that s***,” putting their sales and financial gain above all else.

In addition to Swift, a host of well-known artists, including Travis Scott, Olivia Rodrigo and Blink-182, have released numerous vinyl versions of their recent albums.

Eilish eventually tried to clear things up by posting a simple statement on her Instagram Story, alongside a link to the Billboard article, which revealed that she had not singled out Taylor or any other artists.

“Okay, it would be so great if people would stop putting words in their mouths and actually read what I said in that billboard article,” the two-time Oscar winner wrote. “I didn’t single out anyone, these are system-wide issues across the industry.”

As Swift continues to try to hold onto the top spot for a fifth week on The Tortured Poets Department, some eagle-eyed social media users noticed that Eilish’s manager, Danny Rukasin, liked and then disliked tweets criticizing Swift found.

He would like a post claiming that Swift is going out of her way to “do whatever it takes to keep other artists from shining.”

The tweet further pointed out how Swift previously released her entire catalog back on Spotify on the same day Katy Perry released Witness in 2017, and most recently released three new versions of TTPD on the same day Eilish released her new album.

“This is incredibly messy, but I’m glad that celebrities and celebrity-adjacent people are being openly petty again. They are there to entertain us so please continue,” one Eilish fan wrote.

Another speculated “how long he will be in charge” of Eilish, saying his social media likes give “an unprofessional appearance.”

Earlier this week, Eilish came under fire with Swifties for criticizing her own latest album, Happier Than Ever, for containing too many songs, while appearing on The Zane Lowe Interview Series.

The Los Angeles native said her last record, which contained 16 songs, was too long and that “no one needs that many songs.”

Some interpreted that as a shade towards Swift, whose latest album contains no fewer than 31 songs.

Other signs of beef among the women include Eilish sending Swift’s nemesis, Kim Kardashian, a promo package for her latest record, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

Swift and Kardashian have been embroiled in a years-long feud, which started over the vulgar lyrics of Kanye West’s 2016 song Famous.

While being interviewed by TIME magazine as Person of the Year in December, Swift detailed how the reality star, 43, and her then-husband, 46, leaked an edited phone call that “falsely portrayed her as a liar,” which resulted in her being ” psychological’ was taken down.

Swift has not publicly responded to Eilish’s comments, but has previously expressed support for the Gen Z sensation’s career.

During Billboard’s Women In Music 2019, Swift presented the Lunchcrooner with the Woman of the Year Award.

Swift took a moment to reflect on winning the award herself in 2014, when she recalled that the next Woman of the Year “probably took piano lessons or was in a girls’ choir.”

“I have since learned that an 11-year-old girl in California was actually taking piano lessons and actually in the girls’ choir at that exact moment, and this year she was named Woman of the Year at the age of 18. 17.
