Bill Murray and Rooney Mara were among a group of people temporarily prevented from entering a SAG Awards ballroom at the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday due to fire safety protocols.
Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh took to Twitter with a clip from inside the ceremony at the venue, where he toured a crowded room filled with celebrities and others dressed for the lavish event.
“Total chaos at the SAG Awards as Claire Foy and Rooney Mara are barred from the Fairmont Hotel ballroom; they are told to wait for the fire marshal to let them and hundreds of other guests in,” Setoodeh said. .
He added: ‘Even Bill Murray has to wait. This is crazy!’
In the clip, Murray, 72, is seen looking around the room, while Foy, 38, and Mara, 37, argue with others.
At the show, Murray wore a black suit with a multicolored bow tie. The A-list actor has previously been nominated for three SAG Awards: in 2016, for A Very Murray Christmas; in 2016, for group honors for The Grand Budapest Hotel; and in 2004 for Lost in Translation.
Foy donned a yellow Prada dress for the event, accessorizing it with jewelry and a clutch bag.
Mara wore a black and white Alexander McQueen dress with her brown locks swept back.
