Bill Maher torches ‘bullying’ liberals in wild rant as he jumps to defense of RFK Jr’s wife: ‘Even the mafia doesn’t do that’
Bill Maher has slammed “bullying” liberals who attacked Robert Kennedy Jr.’s wife over her husband’s support for Donald Trump.
The comedian slammed actress Cheryl Hines’ “unpleasant” critics during a segment on his Real Time show.
Hines’ husband recently abandoned his own election campaign and endorsed Trump, prompting a flood of angry messages directed at the star.
The Curb Your Enthusiasm actress, who has played Democrat all her life, has not publicly addressed RFK’s allegiance. However, RFK Jr. told TMZ that she expressed “concern” about his decision.
“There’s an ugliness that they never had before,” Maher fumes. “The liberals I grew up with aren’t like that. They go after their wives. Even the Mafia doesn’t do that.

‘There are a lot of people these days who I would call liberals in theory. In theory, they hate bullying. Terribly. In practice, their attitude is, “It’s not bullying if I stick your head in the toilet.”‘
Hines was inundated with aggressive messages, especially from actor Bradley Whitford.
“Hey @CherylHines what a silence while your deranged husband shows his support for the convicted rapist who brags about depriving women of their basic rights,” Whitford wrote on X.
Other messages included ones encouraging Hines to “do better” and promising to boycott the shows she appears in.
“RFK You are a disgrace to the Kennedy name. Your father and uncle are turning in their graves. How in the world does your wife stay with you? @CherylHines You support a rapist and a liar,” one person wrote.

“You and Bobby can go to hell. I would have voted for the brain worm,” said another.
But it was especially the West Wing actor who was the target of Maher’s anger.
‘In theory, liberals are sympathetic. In practice, this man is [Bradley Whitford] “I can’t even understand one of the most fundamental dilemmas that all human beings face: that sometimes you have to swallow shit when you’re married,” Maher ranted.
RFK suspended his campaign in late August in ten of the most competitive states, including the seven swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
RFK Jr. attended Trump’s rally in Arizona that day and supported his candidacy.
He was also named co-chair of Trump’s transition team, along with the former president’s two sons, Donald Jr. and Eric Trump, former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance.

But the Democrat now running as an independent for president faces a hurdle in North Carolina, because the state has already printed ballots and will begin mailing them out this week for mail-in and early voting.
He is now suing at least three states that do not want his name removed. Wisconsin and Michigan are also refusing to grant him permission.
However, Kennedy did successfully remove himself from the ballot box in other crucial states: Pennsylvania, Nevada and Arizona.
He previously posted a message indicating he would never endorse Trump for a slate, citing fundamental differences on key policy matters and stating that their “leadership philosophies” couldn’t be further apart — while also joking that it would hurt him to do so. ‘devastating’ to his marriage.
