Bill Maher slams ‘tacky’ Taylor Swift and issues grim prediction about future of her romance with Travis Kelce

Comedian Bill Maher thought it was time for Taylor Swift to grow up, after he railed against her songs and predicted Travis Kelce would dump her.

The aging comedian gave his analysis during a conversation with 23-year-old Hailey Welch, better known as the ‘Hawk Tuah Girl,’ on Monday’s edition of his podcast Club Random.

“He’s going to dump her, you know that,” he told his young guest.

“With her, it’s like Gatorade at the Super Bowl, you know you’re going to get dumped,” he added. “You just don’t know when.”

Bill Maher claimed Taylor Swift will be ‘dumped like Gatorade at the Super Bowl’ when speaking to Hawk Tuah Girl Hailey Welch on Monday’s edition of his podcast Club Random

The superstar singer and her Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend were first seen together in public last September and she is a regular spectator at his games

Swift, 34, has been in a relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end for nearly a year. He first spoke publicly about their relationship in a December 2023 interview with Time.

The Fearless singer was in the stands for more than a dozen Chiefs games last season and cheered him to victory in the Super Bowl in February.

But her fangirl following didn’t impress the 68-year-old talk show host, and he predicted it wouldn’t impress her boyfriend either.

“I’m sure she’s a nice person, but that whole thing with the footballer,” he grumbled.

‘I just thought 35 was a bit old to be like, ‘My boyfriend’s a football player and I’m going to wear his shirt to the game with his number on it!’ Right? I mean, come on.’

Welch rose to fame last summer when she used the term “hawk tuah” to describe spitting as part of a sexual act in a viral street interview, and protested that Swift should “do what makes her happy.”

But she suspected that the superstar would remain true to her old pattern and write another successful album about her relationship.

The breakup of her relationship with singer-songwriter John Mayer gave her one of her biggest hits in 2010 with Dear John. Since then, she has written about her exes, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas and Harry Styles.

“It won’t be ‘f*** John Mayer’ anymore, it’ll be ‘f*** Travis,’” Welch joked.

“That was a long time ago,” Maher replied, “does she still sing about that?”

And he said that writing about your personal life is “very vulgar.”

“You can’t control what the muse dictates to you. She’s a songwriter. I can’t blame her for that,” he added.

“But it seems like such a recurring theme. At some point you just want to say, maybe you should write a song called ‘Maybe It’s Me.'”

The liberal comedian was full of praise for Swift’s album “The Tortured Poets Department” when it was released in April, describing it as “something for the Swifties and something for the non-Swifties.”

“Everybody loves it,” he enthused. “The pre-teens love it, the teens love it, the millennials love it.”

And he warned Republicans that the Grammy Award-winning singer could cost them the November presidential election if she supports Democrats, as she did in 2020.

Maher said it was “really tacky” that Swift chronicled her personal life in her songs

But Welch speculated that the superstar would stay true to form and write a new, smashing album about her relationship – should it end

“This is someone who can literally influence the election,” he said on his Real Time podcast in February.

“I don’t know what that says about this country, but I would say to the MAGA people, ‘You have to be very careful about attacking her, because this is someone who is above all parties.’

The singer sparked a surge in voter registrations after urging her 272 million followers on Instagram Stories to get active last September.

“I mean, this is a country girl, right?” Maher mused.

‘ She started out as a country artist. She’s a white girl from Pennsylvania, I think, grew up on a farm, right? Never had a black boyfriend.

“You know, if ‘MAGA’ is full of racists, they’ll probably like that.

“Her voters may not be registered at all, and she doesn’t have to say who she’s voting for. All she has to say is register. They know who she’s voting for.”
