Bill Maher reveals why ‘things are not looking great for the Democrats’

Bill Maher has revealed why “things aren’t looking great for Democrats” ahead of the upcoming presidential election.

On his political talk show Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, comedian Bill Maher denounced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s participation in a voter engagement event with black men that was scheduled to take place on Friday evening.

“This is not a good sign when you have an African-American candidate [Kamala Harris]and yet you have to increase support among black men,” Maher said in his monologue.

With a hint of sarcasm, he added, “And who better to connect with young black men than Tim Walz? Because Michael Bublé apparently wasn’t available.’

“Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian says: hello?” he continued, referencing the media mogul’s history of dating black men.

“This is not a good sign when you have an African-American candidate [ Kamala Harris ]”, and yet you have to strengthen support among black men,” Maher said in his monologue

Maher noted that even former President Barack Obama scolded young black men for not voting for Kamala Harris.

‘But for some young people, especially younger black men, it is of course a difficult choice. Harris is African-American and Trump has a sneaker line,” he said.

Maher’s comments about the Harris-Walz campaign come on the heels of the vice presidential nominee’s recent attempt to walk back his comments on the role of the Electoral College.

When asked about his recent comments suggesting the Electoral College may have outlived its usefulness – during a campaign in which he and his running mate Kamala Harris led in the national polls but could still lose to Donald Trump in key swing states – Walz clarified his position.

“The point I’m trying to make is that there are people who believe that every vote in every state should count, and I think some people feel that that’s not the case,” Walz said in a sit-down interview on ABC’s ‘Good morning America‘ with Michael Strahan.

He then spoke about his and Harris’ campaign position.

With a hint of sarcasm, he added, “And who better to connect with young black men than Tim Walz? Because Michael Bublé was apparently unavailable’

“We are making it clear that the campaign’s position is clear, and that is not their position. Their position, and mine, is to ensure that everyone understands that their vote matters, no matter what state they are in.”

“You said, ‘I think we all know the Electoral College has to go,’” Strahan asked him at the beginning of their conversation. “But the campaign came out later that night and they said that wasn’t their position.”

“So you and Vice President Harris disagree on that,” Strahan asked Walz.

“I’ve talked about in the past that she’s been very clear about this, and the campaign and my position is the campaign’s position,” Walz said in response.

This comes after Walz sharply criticized Donald Trump after the former president warned the entire country “could end up like Detroit.”

While visiting Warren, Michigan, as part of his manufacturing tour, Walz addressed Trump’s comments a day earlier before the Detroit Economic Club.

In that speech, Trump claimed, “The whole country will end up looking like Detroit if she is your president.” You’re going to be in a mess,” he addressed a bipartisan group of business leaders.

Walz fired back, saying, “Donald Trump and JD Vance have a very different view of America. Yesterday Trump said the whole country will end up like Detroit, but we know Detroit is having a comeback, a renaissance.”

He continued, “As a Minnesota Twins fan, I know Detroit beat us, but the city is growing, crime is down and factories are opening. These guys, right? All they know about production is producing bull****,” drawing laughter from the crowd.
