Bill Maher slammed the 2024 presidential candidates this week for their performance, ridiculing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for their “boring” CNN interview and calling Walz’s emotional supporter Harris “VP.”
The comedian delved deeper into the presidential candidates in his opening monologue for his Max show Real Time on Friday.
On Thursday, Harris spoke with CNN’s Dana Bash in her first interview as the Democratic presidential candidate.
“Last night we finally got an interview with Kamala Harris,” Maher said. “Not just with her, but with Tim Walz, her emotional support VP.”
“It was kind of weird, he just sat there for a long time without saying anything. He just nodded and she talked the whole time. The focus group of women said he must be a great husband. But basically it just went on and on, and he didn’t say anything. It was like watching Jeopardy and one of the players couldn’t hit the buzzer.”
Bill Maher took aim at the 2024 presidential candidates for their performances in his opening monologue for his Max show, Real Time, on Friday.
Maher called Tim Walz Kamala Harris’ “emotional support VP” and said his presence in the interview was “odd”
Republican strategists criticized her choice to include Walz, calling it “weak” and saying it implies she “can’t be left alone.”
Maher said, “It’s so funny. The media was furious that she wouldn’t do an interview. And now she finally does it and not a single question is asked about abortion, Ukraine, the homeless, the opioid crisis, the national debt. And then they wonder why kids get their news from TikTok.
‘Of course, Donald Trump had to tweet a little while he watched TV. [the interview.] Boring [Trump called it]. Okay. I’d like something boring.
“That’s what I want in this ticket. It’s Harris-Walz, not Deadpool-Wolverine.”
Maher lashed out at Nancy Pelosi on her show Friday over her successful plan to ban Joe Biden from the 2024 election race.
Maher on Thursday lambasted Nancy Pelosi for her successful plan to oust Joe Biden from the 2024 election race
The evening’s host then went on to rail against Trump over his visit to Arlington National Cemetery, where he got into an altercation with a staff member.
“When the park people told him to stop, he just pushed them out of the way. His goons just pushed her,” Maher said.
‘Ever wonder what Donald Trump is like in real life? Tony Soprano without the introspection.’
Arlington National Cemetery is considered sacred ground by the United States Army and is administered by the Army.
Trump, who is running for a second term in the White House, was invited on Monday to visit relatives of several soldiers who were killed three years ago when U.S. troops left Afghanistan.
Maher lashed out at Trump over his Arlington Cemetery debacle, which saw a member of Trump’s team and a cemetery worker clash
According to reports, a member of Trump’s team and a cemetery employee clashed over the presence of a photographer in Section 60, the part of the cemetery where American soldiers killed in recent wars are buried.
“There is a law, and there should be a law, at Arlington National Cemetery, where our bravest and greatest victims are buried. You cannot take pictures and you cannot use it as a campaign material,” Maher said.
‘So of course, when Trump heard this, he said, the laws, right? And they told him to stop. And he was furious. He said, “You’re ruining a perfectly good exploitation of a tragedy.”‘
“Then he took some flowers from someone’s grave and said, ‘Send these to Melania.'”
