Bill Maher compares Trump to GARFIELD who is ‘fat, orange and hates Mondays’ amid speculation over just HOW former president will pay $454M fraud appeal bond next week

Bill Maher has likened Donald Trump to Garfield the cat – amid speculation about the former president’s ability to pay a $454 million bill for his fraud case next week.

The unlikely comparison was made by the progressive during his Friday monologue on “Real Time,” days after Trump’s lawyers claimed their client had failed to obtain bond to pay the civil fraud judgment against to guarantee him.

In going through topics such as a possible federal TikTok ban and the incidents currently plaguing Boeing, Maher first addressed Trump’s alleged inability to pay his $454 million fine.

The amount, he pointed out, is due on Monday, leading him to bring up the cartoon character’s infamous distaste for that day of the week.

Comparing the cat’s fur to the ex-head of state’s equally orange head of hair, Maher showed no mercy as he attacked the figurative fat cat, which he went so far as to trap as – what else? – a ‘p***y.’

Former President Donald Trump

Jim Davis' character Garfield

The unlikely comparison – which played on the cartoon character’s infamous distaste for Mondays – came days after Trump’s lawyers claimed their client had failed to obtain a bond to guarantee payment of the judgment. The fine must be paid – when else? – Monday

“(Trump) is facing a few lawsuits, and one of them is in New York, because he exaggerated his net worth, how much this property was worth,” the 68-year-old began, first explaining the situation surrounding the fraud case to his audience.

He continued, “There is a bond he has to pay for the $454 million fine and Trump has the weekend to come up with that.”

He then dropped the Garfield bomb, which has now gone viral, saying the former Commander in Chief is essentially “Garfield now.”

To much cheer, Maher concluded: “He’s a fat orange p***y who hates Mondays.”

Not sated by the laughter that followed, the talking head moved on to the topic of the aspiring second-term president’s call, which comes amid claims that New York AG Letitia James chose the massive sum to stop his run .

“This is pretty interesting stuff,” Maher said of the emerging dynamic.

“Donald Trump, the great billionaire, the great ‘businessman,’ could lose his companies, his properties and his money.”

Maher, who is unmarried, joked about Trump’s famously fashionable husband’s reluctance to call out her husband for alleged misdeeds: “Today Melania was seen wearing a jacket that said, OK, now I care.”

The talking head then turned to the increasingly real possibility that Trump would not produce the amount requested, citing that if he cannot pay, the state of New York will seize his assets.

Referring to another recent scandal involving the Fed’s discovery of a trove of presidential documents illegally kept in the then-ex-president’s parsonage at Mar-a-Lago in 2022, he joked about Trump’s response to a such seizure.

“Look, take anything, just leave me my boxes of confidential documents,” Maher said, mimicking the Republican Party frontrunner. “That’s all I really care about.”

Immediately afterward, Maher brought up how Trump is now looking for a vice presidential running mate — sifting through a stable of candidates with names like Marco Rubio, JD Vance, Tim Scott and Kristi Noem.

Maher, in turn, pointed out a potential problem if he were picked — perhaps pointing to Trump’s now infamous feud with his former vice president, Mike Pence, following their disagreements over Trump’s handling of losing the election and the subsequent attack at the US Capitol. for which Pence was present.

“What a great job… you get to defend the indefensible for four years,” Maher said, before hitting the audience with another punchline.

“And at the end a gang tries to hang you,” he said, again to a raucous reception.

Going through topics such as a future federal TikTok ban and the incidents currently plaguing Boeing, Maher first addressed Trump's alleged inability to pay the eye-watering fine.

Trump – who has previously compared himself aesthetically to figures such as Elvis – has yet to respond to the cartoon comparison.

However, Trump has sought to refute claims that he does not have enough money to post bail — even after his lawyers wrote in a court filing Monday that he had failed to secure bail.

In a Truth Social post on Friday, he defied this, claiming he had almost $500 million in cash.

Including interest, the amount Trump owes amounts to more than $464 million – although he has maintained his innocence and remained true to his desire to appeal.

If Trump fails to raise the amount, his image as a businessman – and former world leader – will likely suffer.

As mentioned, the deadline is Monday. Either way, the true state of the Republicans’ financial affairs is about to be revealed.
