Bill Goldberg blasts WWE for having his famous streak broken by ‘some Japanese girl’ before finally hitting back at Bret Hart’s criticism for ending his career, insisting ‘I’m still going to kill him’

  • Bill Goldberg has condemned WWE for Asuka exceeding his 173-0 record
  • His own record in WCW is hotly contested, but the wrestler is holding strong
  • He claims he wants to “kill” Bret Hart because he complains about his career ending

Wrestling Bill Goldberg has slammed WWE for ‘a Japanese girl’ improving his undefeated streak.

Goldberg is said to have amassed a record 173 consecutive victories in the World Wrestling Championship (WCW) in the 1990s – although the numbers are hotly disputed – before Asuka came along and won 174 in a row in WWE.

He also hit back at Bret Hart for criticizing him for ending his career with a kick to the head at Starrcade 1999.

Hart has consistently complained about this moment, but Goldberg insists it was accidental and that he wants to “kill” him for constantly complaining.

About Asuka, he said Tim Green – Nothing is left unsaid: ‘A girl beat my winning streak, beat my undefeated streak. I can’t even remember…’

Bill Goldberg has condemned WWE for “a Japanese girl” (Asuka) surpassing his 173-win streak

Goldberg is said to have 173 straight wins, although many think WCW tampered with the numbers

‘Asuka was her name, a Japanese girl. And they praised her as the one with the longest winning streak. And it just so happened that that culminated when I got there, right?”

Goldberg’s record of 173 consecutive victories is disputed and seen as an exaggerated number.

To improve its record, WCW counted things like house shows – matches that aren’t on TV.

Goldberg maintained his streak in 1997 and 1998, but lost it to Kevin Nash at Starrcade that year.

Meanwhile, Hart never forgave Goldberg for the end of his career in 1999.

Goldberg wanted to move on, but is now furious that Hart won’t drop it.

He said: ‘We had a match and unfortunately something went wrong during the match.

‘I kicked him in the head. It was very stiff and it was an accident. I would never maliciously try to hurt anyone. Well, let me rephrase that. I would never hurt someone in a situation like this where they put their trust in me.

‘Because wrestling is like a dance. You can’t perform well if both people aren’t doing their thing and I haven’t done well.

Asuka came along and racked up 174 consecutive wins to surpass his record, which he is not happy about

Bret Hart has continually complained that Goldberg ended his career with a head kick

Goldberg has insisted that the kick was an “accident” and that he is not a “malicious person.”

‘It got into his head and it ended his career. I’ve never had a good time. I am not a malicious person and I would never take advantage of anyone, especially in a physical sense.

So it was a complete accident, but to this day he thinks or thinks that I did it on purpose, or that I was so terrible at what I did that it just happened.

“So that’s the Bret Hart story. I’ve been hearing it for fifteen years and I’ve heard him complaining and moaning about me kicking him in the head.

“I can only say I’m sorry so many times and I can only be sorry for so long. So that’s where we are. I still want to kill him.”
