Bill Clinton gives cringe impression of ‘tough’ Trump for opting out of second debate with Kamala

Bill Clinton poked fun at Donald Trump and JD Vance at a rally for Kamala Harris in Arizona on Wednesday, but did so by trying to give a chilling impression of Trump.

Appearing in Phoenix, the former president ridiculed the Republican ticket’s “macho talk” but then accused Trump of shirking participation in a second presidential debate before the election.

Clinton seized his moment: “Those guys didn’t want to go anywhere near another debate, did they?” he told the crowd, but then his impression fell apart as he tried to mock Trump.

In a deep voice, the 78-year-old Clinton tried to make herself look bad.

“I’m tough, I’m tough!” he said, trying to portray the Republican presidential candidate.

“Voting has already started,” Trump said last month, accusing Harris of seeking another round of sparring “because she is losing badly.”

Clinton spoke for about 25 minutes at the meeting on Wednesday, leaving plenty of time to turn his attention to Trump’s running mate JD Vance.

“Poor old JD Vance, I saw him the other day, I felt so sorry for him,” Clinton said.

“He was able to maintain enough dignity to go through the entire convention and campaign without having to outright say he thought Trump won the 2020 election. He knew he hadn’t. But they made him say that last week,” Clinton said.

Clinton then told voters why they should vote for Harris.

Harris is “extremely vulnerable, more vulnerable than she deserves to be” because of Republican attacks on her character, but she can win if her supporters work hard enough to counter them, Clinton said.

“The Republicans are geniuses at sowing doubt and division,” Clinton told an audience of black Democrats

“This woman is an alien.” Trump has called her every name in the book.”

Black voters make up a smaller share of the electorate in Arizona than in most other battleground states, but they can still help influence the election in a state where recent top races have been decided by a fraction of a percentage point.

“You know this race is as close as a tic,” Clinton said. ‘You know you can win. It depends on how much you want it. I’m telling you, she’s worth it, and if you do it, you’ll be proud of this for the rest of your life,” he pleaded.
