Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is trying a lot of new things now that he’s retired from coaching and fully embracing his new role in the media.
One of those things is social media, something the eight-time Super Bowl winner stays far away from.
Amid a shocking romance with 23-year-old Jordan Hudson, Belichick, 72, explained how he’s moving with the times on the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show.
“I can’t believe I’m doing this, but I joined Instaface,” the coach said, mispronouncing the name of the social media app Instagram.
In his first post on ‘Instaface,’ Belichick explained why he hated social media for so long — and why that’s now changed.

Within hours of the account going live, Belichick had already amassed thousands of followers
“During my career in the NFL, I had the opportunity to express myself at any time,” the former New England player said.
‘The circumstances are different now. So, here I am.
‘I am (surprisingly) very happy to announce that I have decided to use social media platforms to connect directly with fans and the public.
“A few months ago this debut would have been unthinkable, but now it’s exciting!!”, the statement concluded.
Within hours, Belichick had amassed tens of thousands of followers (more than 65,000 at the time of publication).
Last summer, the relationship between Belichick and Hudson, who is nearly 50 years younger, became public.
The couple met on a flight from Boston to Florida in 2021 and hit it off immediately. They exchanged information after landing and stayed in touch for months afterward, including talking about her schoolwork and cheerleading routines.
Sparks flew when Bill split from girlfriend Linda Holliday in 2023. Now the couple is official, after being spotted out and about together regularly in recent months.

Belichick’s foray into social media is unusual, following a summer of strange moves Belichick made after leaving New England in the offseason.
He stepped down as Foxborough’s top player after 24 years as coach of the Patriots.
Following that announcement, the coach, who previously had a cool relationship with the media, announced that he would join the ranks.
Belichick will be a guest on this season’s highlights program “Inside the NFL” as part of the panel of experts.
He will also make regular appearances on ESPN shows such as The Pat McAfee Show and the ‘ManningCast’ edition of Monday Night Football.
On Wednesday, Adam Schefter reported that Belichick has taken on a new media role as a strategic advisor to the 33rd team.
The emerging media and technology company is made up of former players, coaches and executives. The cast of characters, combined with a group of experienced writers, analysts and insiders, is a solid source of NFL news and analysis from people who have worked in the league.
He is preparing for his first season outside of an NFL coaching job in decades after leaving the New England Patriots
Former NFL coaches Matt Patricia and Adam Gase also join the 33rd team, alongside Belichick.
Belichick also plans to host his own show, COACH on Underdog Fantasy.
In addition to his new jobs, Belichick is spending time with his new girlfriend, 23-year-old Jordon Hudson.
The pair spent many days together on Nantucket during the summer, attending various meetings and taking trips on Belichick’s boat.
