A man is murdered in a daring daylight execution in a shooting that police believe is related to the motorcycle wars in which the killer is still on the run.

Western Australia police were called to a workshop in the Perth suburb of Gnangara just after 4 p.m. on Thursday to report that a 34-year-old man had been shot in the stomach and chest.

Paramedics tried to provide first aid after finding the victim “on the ground,” but he could not be rescued, police said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Keith Neubronner said police did not believe there was any risk to the public but urged locals to remain “vigilant”.

“We don’t believe the shooter poses a threat to the community … because at this point we believe the shooting was the target,” he told reporters at the scene.

“We are still collecting information and intelligence about the identity of the person or persons involved.

“We know who the victim is, but we’re trying to figure out his connections to other people.

“We’re asking the community to be vigilant and keep an eye on exactly what’s going on, and if they need to report anything to report it on Crime Stoppers.”

Homicide detectives arrived at the workshop around 7 p.m. Thursday with forensic teams inspecting the eerie scene.

Police are calling on the public to provide relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the hours leading up to and following the shooting.

The area is highly secured and residents of the nearby Lakelands Lifestyle Village may only enter with proof of address.

While the shooting has not been confirmed to be bicycle-related, senior WA Rebels member Joseph Raimondi was seen at the scene hugging fellow mourners outside the police roadblock.

It’s been nearly two years since the top rebel member, Nick Martin, and one of Raimondi’s closest friends was killed by a sniper while in Perth.

Martin, the long-term president of the rebels, was shot dead by a hit man while watching drag racing at Perth Motorplex with his family in December 2020.
