Big television star snubbed from the 2024 Logie Awards for the first time: ‘You’re not allowed’
The Logie Awards kick off on August 18, after this year’s Paris Olympics, but one major radio and TV star will not be in attendance.
Chrissie Swan revealed on Tuesday that she has been banned from evening television for the first time in her long career in entertainment.
The radio and TV presenter, 50, shared the shocking news on Nova’s The Chrissie Swan Show, saying she has not received an invitation to this year’s star-studded event.
Chrissie invited good friend and comedian Sam Pang to her radio show after hearing he would be hosting The Star Sydney’s Logies again.
‘I don’t know much about it. I do know that it is on August 18, after the Olympic Games, ‘Are you paying attention?’ panelist, 50, said.

Chrissie then chimed in with, “Where is it? I don’t think I got invited this year. I think this is the first year I haven’t been invited in years.”
‘Well, fine. I’m glad they got my memo. That’s not allowed,” the joker hit back.
Chrissie is often seen as a guest at the Logies each year and was recognized earlier during the ceremony for her work on television.
She won Most Popular New Female Talent in 2011 and was nominated for the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television for hosting The Circle.

That same year, she was also nominated for Most Popular TV Presenter, a nomination she received again in 2012 and 2013 for The Circle and Can of Worms.
Chrissie’s absence from this year’s Logie Awards could be due to her recent focus on radio since rolling out The Chrissie Swan Show nationally on Nova FM last year.
The nominations for the 64th TV Week Logie Awards will be announced on June 23, with this year’s event bringing significant changes to the award categories and judging panel.
Three awards will be presented as ‘Most Popular’, with nominees determined by a panel of independent industry experts before being voted on by the Australian public.

These categories include the Gold Logie for the most popular personality on Australian television, the Bert Newton Award for the most popular presenter and the Graham Kennedy Award for the hottest new talent.
Additionally, the remaining 20 awards will be named ‘Best’, a combination of the previous ‘Most Popular’ and ‘Most Notable’ categories.
The winners will be determined by a combined jury score, viewing data and Australian public votes.
Channel Seven’s Logies broadcast was a blockbuster for the network last July, attracting an impressive 877,000 viewers after the network took over the broadcast rights from Channel Nine in 2022.
