Big Little Lies author spends $19.5 million on Mosman mansion…making her neighbors with show star Nicole Kidman
Liane Moriarty, author of Big Little Lies, has snapped up an amazing mansion on Sydney’s north coast for a reported $19.5 million.
Moriarty, 56, who has sold more than 20 million books, bought the sprawling Mosman Block last month with her husband Adam Gatenby after it was originally listed with a $19 million price list, reports Domain.
The state-of-the-art waterfront home has three floors, five bedrooms and five bathrooms and offers spectacular views of Sydney Harbour.
Located in one of Sydney’s most desirable areas, the home, designed by prestigious architect Susan Rothwell, overlooks Balmoral Beach.
Highlights include an internal elevator and majestic curved staircase, limestone floors and custom joinery.

The beautiful mansion is the former home of technical director Richard Leon of the software company Altium.
The move puts Moriarty just a few minutes’ drive from Big Little Lies star Nicole Kidman, who owns a whopping five apartments in Sydney’s Milsons Point.

It comes after Moriaty enjoyed huge international success with her 2014 novel Big Little Lies.
The blockbuster thriller was later turned into the 2017 HBO series starring Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley.
Big Little Lies dramatized grim topics such as domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as family-oriented topics such as divorce and co-parenting.
Kidman later starred in the streaming hit Nine Perfect Strangers, which was based on Moriarty’s 2018 novel, about a mysterious “wellness” retreat.
