Big Brother winner Reggie Bird unveils shock injury from NYE party: ‘Was wondering why I’m sore’

Reggie Bird suffered a nasty injury while celebrating the New Year with friends.

The Big Brother star, 50, was definitely in the mood for a big night and took to Instagram before her New Year celebrations began.

In the photo, Reggie proudly held up a bottle of Passion Pop, grinning broadly at the camera.

Reggie, who has a rare degenerative eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa, also wore a Vision Australia badge that read: ‘Not P***ed, Low Vision.’

However, it seems that Reggie has overindulged in the uniquely Australian sparkling wine.

Reggie took to the social media platform again on Friday and shared the aftermath of her wild night.

The photo showed Reggie holding up the pant leg of her shorts, revealing a few bruises on the side of her leg.

The dark purple spots looked quite painful and covered a large area on her thigh.

A second photo showed a close-up of Reggie’s giggle-worthy Vision Australia badge.

‘I wondered why I’m in pain. He was definitely wearing the wrong badge,” Reggie joked before adding that she “fell out at the party.”

Reggie’s friends and followers were quick to comment on her New Year’s ailment.

‘Oh no Reggie, the passion pop really did you good! I hope you’re feeling better today, except for the bruises,” one fan commented, while another said something similar: “That’s what happens when you drink passion pop.”

A third noticed the scratch on Reggie’s badge, suggesting this might not have been the reality star’s first party.

“Your badge looks like it’s bitten the dust a few times,” the follower wrote.

Reggie’s New Year’s injury comes after she revealed that a video she posted to Facebook was removed for violating community guidelines.

The two-time Big Brother winner posted to Instagram in November to tell her fans that she may be kicked off the platform after receiving a strike for sharing a video of herself purchasing Spanx shapewear.

“I think someone is seriously targeting me because I’m getting all these notifications of Facebook restrictions,” she said.

‘Especially about the video I made the other day when I tried Spanx. They say it was sexual. There was nothing sexual about trying on Spanx underwear.”

She also referenced a second video of her inflating a pool toy, which was also removed for violating the guidelines.

Reggie continued, “And then I got flagged again for the video of me blowing up a pool toy. There’s nothing sexual about that at all.

“For example, how can you inflate a floating pool toy and get a restriction when you put it on the market? It’s incredible.

Reggie said that “someone” is reporting all her videos and she “can’t even appeal.”

“This is Facebook, but it happens a lot, and I think someone is seriously reporting my post, so you can’t even appeal. It’s crazy.

“I’ve seen worse things than trying on underwear and blowing up a pool toy on social media, so what do you do? I just don’t know what to do anymore,” she said, calling the situation “absolute madness.”

“Can someone please start another damn platform where you can blow up pool toys without getting banned?” she added.

Reggie made history when she became the first reality star to win Big Brother twice, first in 2003 and again in 2022.

Despite taking home $250,000 in prize money during the 2003 and 2022 seasons of Big Brother, the TV personality has struggled financially over the years.

Bird is legally blind after being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa and Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disease that affects both hearing and vision.
