Big Brother viewers were left furious when new hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best started the show on ITV, as the iconic figure appeared to be missing.
A new group of housemates, including a bartender, a butcher, a Muslim make-up artist and a fiery Scottish dancer, led the housemates during Sunday’s launch.
But fans of the show shared their fears on social media when they thought narrator Marcus Bentley had not returned.
Voiceover star Marcus has featured in all nineteen series of the show to date, as well as spin-off shows, up until was dismissed in 2018 from Channel 5.
Thankfully, there was a surprise to come, as he returned to his iconic role, keeping the audience at home informed of the happenings in the house.

Sharing her thoughts on X, one person posted: “Oh Marcus was just magical, so glad he’s back we could never do it without you.”
“Good to have you back Marcus, hope Mrs B doesn’t mind sharing you with us,” joked another.
‘Ah Marcus is back, phew!’ a third fan chimed in.
Someone else added: ‘It’s so great to have Marcus Bentley’s voice back. As if an old friend had stopped by for a cuppa.’
Clearing up any confusion, Marcus shared: “Listen guys, I’ve had a lot of this tonight – but just to reiterate, for some who think I wasn’t on the show tonight – I’m not the voice of the Big Brother diary room – I never have been.
‘I am the narrator of the show and I was narrating when all the housemates came in.’
Ahead of the reboot, the voice star Marcus took to social media to share a video of his last shot of 2018 in anticipation of the show.
In the clip, the actor, 55, can be seen saying in his famous Geordie accent, “It’s almost time to say goodbye tonight.”

The Gateshead-born artist rose to fame in 2000 when Big Brother was launched on Channel 4.
Marcus stayed with the popular reality series during its move to Channel 5 and recorded the voice-over until its final run in 2018.
When the show announced its return, rumors started flying about whether Marcus would rejoin the program.
These rumors were put to rest in April when a source told The Sun: ‘It was difficult to bring Marcus back for the new era – he is simply the voice associated with Big Brother UK.’
