Big Brother fans slam ITVX’s ‘pointless’ live feed after HALF of the stream is muted with ‘bird sounds’: ‘Can we report this to Ofcom?’
Big Brother fans slammed the live show after more than half of the three-hour stream was drowned out by bird sounds.
The cult show has become famous for using noise when housemates swear or are involved in a contentious situation, but fans have complained that the bosses are hiding hours of chats, making the stream ‘pointless’.
Big Brother fans get updates live on ITVX between 11pm and 2am every night, sharing a look at moments that might not make the final cut.
But Tuesday’s final episode angered many viewers, with one writing on X: “I’ve never been more jealous of people’s ability to lip read. I’m during Big Brother live.’
Another added: “I’ll be happy to set up a 24 hour live feed for you so I don’t have to listen to these stupid bird noises and interrupt the feed when necessary please I’m sick of these stupid birds.”
Annoying: Big Brother fans hit out at Big Brother live on Tuesday night after more than half the three-hour stream was silenced with bird sounds
One angry viewer shared: ‘2 hours of live streaming and so far we’ve had 1 hour and 30 minutes of bird sounds.’
“There’s literally no point in a live stream if the sound is going to be muted 24/7, that’s so sh**t.” Everyone is watching this live stream, expecting it to be good and listening to the lives of the housemates. But the Big Brother producers must be the Karens, so they’re silencing him for no reason,” the fan added.
Showing his frustration, one fan posted: “We can all report this Big Brother live broadcast to Ofcom because we spent a long time listening to birds instead of listening to the covers that are happening.”
Another added: “Every night Big Brother Live seems to be filled with more and more birdsong as if there’s no point in even watching it now.” Take about 30 seconds every 10 minutes.’
It came after Monday’s feed sparked outrage from viewers, when housemate Carrie used a ‘derogatory’ gay slur during a tantrum, while Big Brother reportedly ‘reviewed’ the incident.
Divided into two teams, the housemates competed in various tasks throughout the day, giving them the chance to become VIP glampers and win a more luxurious camping experience.
Carrie secured her spot in the VIP area during the shopping task, but her fellow contestants decided to hide her mattress.
Joking Olivia and Jenkin told Kerry that fans at home voted for one housemate to lose their luxury bed.
Seriously? Viewers complained that Tuesday’s feed had hours of chat turned off, rendering the stream “pointless”
Furious: Fans took to Twitter to share their frustration with the live show, with one even threatening to complain to Ofcom
Expressing anger at the situation, she complained to her colleagues and exclaimed: ‘Well this is gay.’
said ITV The Daily Star to ‘review’ the situation after viewer complaints.
MailOnline has contacted Big Brother representatives for comment.
Sharing her thoughts on X, one viewer said: ‘Oh sure #Kerry uses gay as a derogatory word, she won’t have to worry about being in the highest tax bracket when she comes out as the NHS will have to sack her.’
Another added: “I really haven’t heard anyone use that term in about 10 years.” Shockingly awful and outdated. In fact, I’m even surprised that Kerry would say that on TV.’
A third wrote: ‘There’s nothing wrong with the word gay itself, but the problem is the context in which Kerry used it.’

It comes after Carrie came under fire for making “tone-deaf” remarks about her pay during Sunday’s episode.
The NHS manager shocked viewers during a chat with model Zac, 28, food writer Henry, 25, and barman Jenkin, 25, as they discussed the average pay of MPs compared to the UK population.
Sharing her thoughts on politics, Kerry – who revealed she has voted Conservative all her life – said MPs ‘don’t get paid as much’, while complaining she doesn’t pay a ‘higher tax bracket’.
Kerry narrowly avoided being evicted from the Big Brother house on Friday after facing the first public vote alongside make-up artist Farida – who was the first to be evicted.
