Big Brother fans were left frustrated on Sunday night as they dealt with technical issues on the ITVX app ahead of the eagerly awaited launch of the show.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, viewers are furious over a slew of issues with the app that have put them in danger of missing out on the show’s epic return to the new network.
Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best kicked off the initial show on ITV, after the reality show was canceled by Channel 5 in 2018, introducing a new batch of 16 contestants.
Ahead of the 9pm kick-off, viewers of the revived show took to Twitter to chime in – including those paying the £3.99 Premium subscription.
Disgruntled fans wrote on the site: “It just stops and I have to go back to the main menu and start the stream again… Isn’t constant buffering meant to be part of #BBUK… Where will you be watching?” !…
Fury: Big Brother fans were left frustrated on Sunday night as they dealt with technical issues on the ITVX app ahead of the show’s eagerly awaited launch
Shocking: Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best have launched the show on ITV, after the reality show axed in 2018 on Channel 5, introducing a new batch of 16 contestants
“I keep getting error messages on the ITVX site and I’m very annoyed… I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch @bbuk because of @ITVX Every time the adverts come on it takes you back to the start of the programme…
“Also if you don’t have to watch the whole thing, you can’t go back and watch it later.” Fix it worst tv app!!… constant buffering!!!!! #bbuk…
‘Even after paying for my subscription… I finally sat down to watch Big Brother and tried ITVX premium and it’s like I’m watching it on YouTube in 2008. Why is the quality so terrible?… Well @ITVX is a c**p !…
“What streaming platform doesn’t let you pause your live stream?” Can’t pause live TV!? Funny! I’ll just sit and wait for your broadcast to end until I finish what I was watching. The app needs another big overall!…
‘Itvk’s subtitles are terrible. isn’t anyone available to dub them?… Why isn’t anyone talking about how terrible streaming is on itvX? The sound is either crunchy or lagging, the video pauses and it’s not better even with premium…
“You’d think going premium would be better because YOU’RE PAYING FOR A SERVICE, but don’t take it up on @ITVKS.
MailOnline has contacted a representative for ITV for comment.

During the show’s launch, host AJ, 35, secretly battled an awkward wardrobe malfunction in her latex suit during the show.
According to Sunthe host’s sharp outfit was so tight that she had to use lube to get into it.
Not only that, but the stylists had to go on stage multiple times holding a blow dryer to combat the frizz from her wig and the static on her legs.
An audience whistleblower said: “First the producer said she had to be greased to get into (the cat) and then her extra long wig kept catching on her legs from the static.
“Her stylists had to keep going out on stage with blow dryers to keep her wig from sticking.” It was hilarious for us, but less so for her.
“Then all that hot air on her legs started causing air to come out, basically making farting noises, and AJ was, like, ‘It’s not me.’
An audience member added that the audience was told that this year’s performance would be “celebratory” so no whistling was allowed, as in previous years.
