Karine Jean-Pierre has said Joe Biden will not take a cognitive test this week as part of his annual physical test, despite the DOJ report saying his memory is failing.
Americans watched as Biden held a disastrous press conference on Thursday after the scathing review found the president had a poor memory and “impaired capabilities.”
Donald Trump would routinely brag about how he “passed” a cognitive exam as part of his physical exams when he was in the White House.
But when Jean-Pierre was asked about the test on Monday, he claimed it was unnecessary and quoted White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor.
“The president proves every day how he operates and thinks, by interacting with world leaders, by making tough decisions on behalf of the American people – whether it’s homeland or national security.”

‘That’s how Dr. O’Connor sees it, and that’s how I’m going to leave it,” she continued.
She tried to insist — as many Democrats have done in the media since Thursday’s news conference — that the Biden she sees is an edgier version of the one seen in his media appearances.
“When we have meetings with him and his staff, he’s constantly pushing us, trying to get more information, and so that’s been my experience with this president,” she said.
Jean-Pierre added that she has known Biden since 2009, considers him a mentor and says the president remains “sharp” and “on top of things.”
It seems Jean-Pierre and her fellow Democrats still have a lot of work to do to convince the rest of the country of her case.
Last year, O’Connor exclaimed that Biden was a “healthy” and “vigorous” 80-year-old fit for office, his doctor said after his annual physical Thursday at Walter Reed.
White House physician Col. Kevin O’Connor gave an update on his health amid concerns about his age as he prepared to announce he would run for president in 2024.
The results were largely unchanged from last time, except for a lesion on his chest that was sent for cancer screening, and there was no cognitive test despite calls from Republicans.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said President Joe Biden would not take a cognitive test this week as part of his annual physical, despite the DOJ report suggesting his memory was deficient.

O’Connor said Biden’s gait “remains stiff” but insisted it has not worsened since the last survey.
There was also a detailed ‘neurological examination’ which showed nothing ‘consistent with any cerebellar or central neurological disorder’.
In 2020, Trump bragged about how he “passed” a “cognitive test” administered “very recently” and that doctors at Walter Reed Medical Center were “very surprised” that he passed.
Trump told Sean Hannity on Fox News at the time that Biden “didn’t take a cognitive test because he couldn’t pass it.”
The president added: “I took one recently when I – when the radical left said, is he all there, is he all there?
“I prove that it was all there because I succeeded. I passed the test and he would have to take the exact same test.”
It is not known whether Trump has previously undergone such a test as part of previous medical checks.
It is also unknown whether any previous president has undergone a cognitive test.

A large majority of American voters – 86 percent – say President Joe Biden, 81, is too old for another term, a new poll shows.
It comes after a damning Justice Department report emerged last week claiming Biden’s failing memory and “diminished capabilities” as reasons not to charge him in the classified documents case.
Meanwhile, 62 percent of respondents in the ABC News/Ipsos Polls show that former President Donald Trump, 77, is also too old for another term in the White House.
Fifty-nine percent of respondents say both of 2024’s top competitors are too old, while 27 percent think only the current president is old enough to be left out.
A special one Financial Times poll This weekend’s release shows Trump with an 11-point lead over Biden among those confident they can handle the economy — 42 percent to 31 percent.
Concerns about Trump and Biden’s age and fitness for office have increased since September, when an ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 74 percent of Americans thought Biden was too old to serve and 49 percent thought the same about Trump.
Biden is the oldest president in American history. He broke Trump’s record by eight years when he took office in January 2021 at the age of 78.
If Biden is elected to a second term, he would be 82 years old at the time of his inauguration.
At a press conference Thursday, Biden bristled at DOJ special counsel Robert Hur’s accusation that he didn’t know when his son Beau died and mixed up the dates he was vice president.
More than 8.5 in 10 American voters think President Joe Biden is too old for another term – and only 62% think the same about Trump
When only their own party’s preferences are taken into account, 73 percent of Democrats think Biden is too old and only 35 percent of Republicans think that of Trump.
Ninety-one percent of independents say Biden is too old and 71 percent of this voting bloc say the same about the former president.
The latest negative polling on Biden’s re-election bid comes after Thursday’s release of the long-awaited DOJ report, which recommended no charges against the former president.
However, it was still just as damaging to Biden because it raises questions about his fitness for office.
In interviews with researchers, Biden forgot the years he was vice president and could not remember the year his son Beau died. While it did not recommend charges, the report alleged that Biden’s lax stance on classified documents posed a significant national security risk.
One reason investigators decided not to file charges was because “Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury at trial, as he did during our interview with him, as a likable, well-meaning, older man with a poor memory.” ‘
Biden held a press conference the same day the report was released to defend himself, as special counsel Robert Hur’s report is likely to undermine the president’s efforts to use the classified documents incriminating Trump in the 2024 election.
