Joe Biden said at an event in New York on Sunday that there would be “no more drilling” in the US one day after Joe Manchin reprimanded him for vowing to shut down coal plants — while the president nearly had a leak on the podium.

At one point, you heard the president say to someone in the crowd, “No more drilling. There is no more drilling. I have not formed a new bore. No.’

On Friday, Biden claimed at an event in California that the US will close coal mines in favor of wind and solar power plants. When the White House came back claiming Biden’s words were “twisted,” the Democratic senator from West Virginia said… Manchin said Saturday Biden’s claims are the reason ‘the American people’ losing faith in President Biden.”

“To be Cavalier about the loss of coal jobs for men and women in West Virginia and across the country, who are literally risking their lives to help and empower this country, is insulting and disgusting,” Manchin said. .

Biden seemed to double down on those comments, though — as he talked to hecklers and nearly fell onstage while arguing cutting annual costs of prescription drugs for seniors at Sunday’s event with New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

“Oops, on a – hmm – it’s black. Anyway,” Biden said after he nearly fell.

The president turns 80 on November 20, and was talking about his age and birthday when a heckler intervened from the audience.

“I know I don’t look like that, but I’ve been around for a while,” Biden joked Sunday evening to the crowd gathered at Sarah Lawrence College, a private liberal arts college in Yonkers, New York.

At this point, Biden was interrupted by at least one protester, whom he appeared to be encouraging as he was escorted out of the room.

‘Let them scream. Let them scream,” the president rejected. “That’s more my generation, okay. I am with you.’

Biden had to catch himself at one point during the rally when he tripped over something on the podium and nearly fell.

Biden was extremely interactive with the crowd during Sunday’s rally for New York Governor Kathy Hochul. So much so that he even struck up a conversation with a member of the crowd who yelled at the president about drilling at the end of his meeting.

He also stopped his rally at one point to get medical attention for a mob member who passed out.

Biden recounted his conversation with world leaders at the G7 summit shortly after he became president, expressing his continued concern about the optics of the US Capitol being raided by citizens objecting to the 2020 election results.

The president had to stop halfway through the story when onlookers drew his attention to someone in need of medical attention.

“Okay, I get it, I get it,” Biden said as the audience went berserk with the faintness. “Let’s help a little here. Someone fainted. I have it, I have it. We’ll get help here.’

He took care of the effort and justified the fainting as a result of standing for a long time at the meeting, where Governor Kathy Hochul and Biden both spoke.

Hochul faces her first election after being appointed to complete the disgraced term of former Governor Andrew Cuomo. She goes against GOP Representative Lee Zeldin in a state Biden won by 23.2 points in the 2020 presidential election.

The deep blue state is unlikely to turn red with polls showing Hochul 7.5 points ahead of Zeldin. It also raises the question of why Biden chose New York as one of the states where he made his final plea for the election of Democrats in the 2022 midterm elections.

Biden interrupted his own speech several times to deal with the crowd, including nearly encouraging a heckler, trying to find medical help for an audience member who passed out, and talking to a person in the front row about how he “stopped drilling.”

As Kygo and Whitney Houston’s Higher Love began to play to signal the end of Biden’s speech, the president lagged and began talking to a person in the crowd, ending the music abruptly.

The president proposed no plans to dig the US out of economic turmoil at a rally in New York just two days before election day — instead, he attacked Republicans and again painted November 8 as a “fight for democracy.”

He went after Zeldin’s voting record and also called out the names of lawmakers who were not in the running in New York, such as Georgia’s far-right Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham.

Biden said there will be 300 “deniers” on the ballot in the 2022 midterm elections, claiming Republicans want to deny Democrats the right to vote and make sure their votes don’t count when they’re cast.

“You can’t just love the country if you win,” the president said, referring to some lawmakers who have already suggested they won’t accept the results.
