Biden returns to the BEACH for second straight weekend – despite solemn DNC vow to ‘work like hell’
President Joe Biden was spotted with First Lady Jill Biden on the beach in Rehoboth, Delaware — their second weekend in a row on vacation.
Biden sat next to a blue umbrella on Saturday wearing a black hat and a Philadelphia Eagles T-shirt as he talked on the phone and waved to the cameras.
The First Lady looked relaxed, with the sleeves of her white dress rolled up and her hair pulled back in a gray baseball cap.
The 81-year-old president, who has vowed to serve out the remaining months of his term, has been criticized for spending so much time on the beach.
“Who runs the country?” said Texas Congressman Wesley Hunt on X on Thursday. ‘Joe Biden is on his second vacation in two weeks and Kamala Harris is preparing for her first interview in 40 days.’

Biden arrived in Rehoboth Beach on Sunday after spending a week at a 20,000-acre ranch in Santa Ynez, California.
The couple, along with their children and grandchildren, lived on a California ranch owned by Democratic billionaire Joe Kiani.
The estate is located approximately three hours north of Los Angeles, in the Santa Barbara wine region.
Kiani is a major Biden campaign donor and a family friend. Hunter Biden toured the $50 million vineyard property last year.
The 8,000-hectare area, also known as the ‘Kiani Preserve’, has its own vineyard, donkeys and a herd of cattle.
However, the White House is defending Biden’s two-week vacation by saying he is the boss and is running the country from his vacation spots.
“The president is on vacation, but you can never pull the plug and walk away from a job like this, and he’s not trying to,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said in a Zoom briefing with reporters Monday.
“He’s got a firm grip on the reins,” he noted of Biden.

He pointed out that Biden spoke to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday, proving that the president is working.
He will remain in Rehoboth until Monday, after which he will travel to Pittsburgh with Kamala Harris for a campaign rally.
According to journalist Mark Knoeller, who tracks presidential travel, Biden is on his 114th visit to Delaware, a visit that will last, in whole or in part, 328 days.
That’s far more than Donald Trump spent in a comparable period in office, spending 51 visits and 240 days at his estates in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, or Bedminster, New Jersey.
Biden is set to travel next week, traveling to Wisconsin on Thursday to discuss his administration’s efforts to lower costs for Americans.
Wisconsin is a crucial battleground state for Democrats in the 2024 election. Biden is no longer on the ballot, but can still talk about what he and Kamala Harris have done to help the country.
During his speech at the Democratic National Convention, Biden said he has “a lot to do” in his final five months as president
During his speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Biden said he was acting in the best interests of the country and would “work very hard” to get it done before his term ended.
He added that serving as commander in chief has been “the honor of a lifetime” and that he has “much to do” in his final five months in office.
“I still have a lot to do, and I intend to do it,” he said.
Biden dropped out of the presidential race on July 21 after his poor performance in the debate against Donald Trump, which led to concerns about his mental health.
“For the next six months, I am focused on my work as president,” Biden said in his speech from the White House on July 24.
