Is Biden going to SKIP Fox’s Super Bowl interview? The president could avoid the tradition started by George W. Bush with the network that he has clashed with and called the White House reporter a ‘stupid son of a ***’

  • It seems increasingly likely that President Joe Biden will skip a meeting with Fox News before Sunday’s Super Bowl.
  • The Super Bowl is being broadcast on Fox, which means Biden would have had to sit down with a Fox News Channel reporter.
  • Variety reported Thursday that executives at the Fox network are proceeding as if the interview will not take place, though no final call has been made.

It seems increasingly likely that President Joe Biden will skip a meeting with Fox News before Sunday’s Super Bowl, a tradition that began under President George W. Bush.

Fox is showing the big game, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, so the president would have had to sit down with one of the right-leaning network’s journalists.

Biden had previously taken on White House correspondent Peter Doocy, referring to him as a “stupid son of a bitch” at an event last January.

Variety reported Thursday that Fox network executives are proceeding as if the interview were not taking place, although no final call has been made.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre would not say what was going on with the interview when asked about it aboard Air Force One on Wednesday and Thursday.

It seems increasingly likely that President Joe Biden (pictured) will skip a meeting with Fox News before Sunday’s Super Bowl, a tradition that began during President George W. Bush’s tenure.

Sunday’s big game, pitting the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles, will air on Fox, meaning Biden would have had to sit down with a Fox News Channel reporter.

Biden memorably called Fox News Channel’s White House correspondent Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a bitch” at an event in January 2022, a comment that caught on the president’s microphone.

I just have nothing to share. We literally just got done with the State of the Union so I have nothing to share about… this Sunday,” he said Wednesday.

When asked again on Thursday, he said he had “nothing to do with Sunday.”

Jean-Pierre was then asked why Biden would pass up the opportunity to appear in front of such a large audience.

I hear… I hear the question. I just don’t have anything to tell you about Sunday,” the press secretary replied.

During Fox News Channel’s State of the Union programming on Tuesday night, host Bret Baier confirmed that the network had asked the White House for a meeting with Biden.

“We have formally requested that interview, but we have not yet received an answer, whether they are going to do it officially or not,” Baier said. We are running out of days.

Baier and Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream were being considered by the network to conduct the Biden interview, a source told Variety.

In 2004, former President George W. Bush (right) did a once-in-a-lifetime interview from a snowy White House rose garden with CBS’s Jim Nantz (left) before the Super Bowl.

Former President Donald Trump also skipped a Super Bowl meeting when he went with an unfavorable network.

For Trump, this meant NBC and NBC Nightly News host Lester Holt in 2018.

In the run up to that Super Bowl, Trump had criticized NFL players for taking a knee during the national anthem, a rally against institutionalized racism.

In 2004, Bush 43 did a one-time interview from a snowy White House rose garden with CBS’s Jim Nantz before the Super Bowl.

In 2009, former President Barack Obama kicked off the tradition in earnest, sitting down for a Super Bowl interview for all eight years.

Trump participated in the Super Bowl interview three of his four years, while Biden participated the last two years.

Biden rarely does one-on-one interviews, but he did do two this week after the State of the Union.

He sat down with PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff during her Wednesday trip to Wisconsin and Telemundo’s Julio Vaqueiro during his trip to Tampa, Florida on Thursday.

Still, some wonder why he would miss out on getting his message across in front of such a large crowd.

“The Biden administration is foolishly missing out on a massive audience before the Super Bowl game,” an industry insider told DailyMail.com.
